Man flees after luring 6-year-old boy into mall toilet

Police in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, are looking for a man who lured a 6-year-old boy into a shopping center toilet and molested him before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. NTV reported that the boy was standing outside a toy store while his father went to the toilet. The suspect, who was wearing a white mask, approached the boy and told him he had to put some lotion on him for his health. Police said he took the boy to another restroom, made him take off his top and then pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach.

Police said surveillance camera footage showed the same man talking to a boy at another shopping center earlier the same day.

Police said he left the boy and fled the mall on a scooter. He is described as being in his 20s, and is approximately 160-170 cm tall. Anyone with any information is urged to call 047-435-0110.

I would like to see those surgical masks banned.

They do absolutely nothing to prevent the spread of disease, encourage social inadequates to hide behind a make-believe cloak of invisibility instead of growing up and joining society - but above all they are a quick and easy disguise for criminals like this piece of garbage here.

We had a problem near where I live last Autumn. Some sick bastard slashed a six-year-old. Police were on the lookout for a man with dark hair, wearing a surgical mask.

We need some kind of awareness campaign to persuade the herds of people here who think they're doing something for society by wearing this nonsense that actually they're just making society worse.

I do hope the police get this filth. But I very much doubt they will unless he turns himself in.

What sick, twisted bastard!! Poor little boy!! I hope this evil dog is arrested ASAP!

"The suspect, who was wearing a white mask, approached the boy and told him he had to put some lotion on him for his health. Police said he took the boy to another restroom, made him take off his top and then pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach."

I hope the public does not need to point out the obvious to the keystone cops that DNA found on the poor child can/could be used to track down this nutter.

and then pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach.

I daren't think what bodily fluid was involved... There are some sick people in the word.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I would like to see those surgical masks banned.

why does not some company make transparent ones?

Police said he took the boy to another restroom, made him take off his top and then pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach.

this pervert needs to be caught quickly?

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Sounds like a serial offender. Good photograph. The parents should be able to recognize the perp...

4 ( +5 / -1 )

That's an excellent photo, quite different from the usual grainy b&w ones. It won't take long to find him. I hope.

There are some countries where women's faces are hidden, but I wonder if Japan is the only country in the world where it is permissible for grown men to walk around incognito?

I really hope you realize the irony of this statement.

Omg! I lived in Funabashi. I hope this CRAZY BASTARD WILL GET ARRESTED!!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Strange because at 6 year old, my kids are/ were fully aware not to go with a stranger, especially to an enclosed space. And no, you can t take your kids with you all the time for such need. Cautiousness is key. I hope that guy will lose teeth...

I hope someone finds this scumbag quickly... dusgusting.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

He's done...put him away for a long time!

made him take off his top and then pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach.

Somewhat vague. Not sure why its being called molestation but it does seem like sexual assault.

before fleeing the scene.

Sounds dramatic. But further reading sounds like he just walked and rode away.

""Children are sacrosanct."

@LFRAagain - the incident in question aside, comments like that are an example of what is wrong with the modern world."

pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach

This is really weird writing. Like is that supposed to be a euphemism or is it supposed to be lurid scandal- mongering writing, I can't even tell which. If it's that fluid then say "where he molested the kid", if it 's blood, say blood, if saliva say "attempted sexual acts" or "tried to kiss".

Sorry, "pasted" and the vague "bodily fluid" make it ten times as icky.

Please find this sick individual now.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

If they know he fled on a scooter surely they have the licence plate?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Just a thought, Dad may have believed having his son wait outside the WC was preferable whilst seated in a closed cubicle.

Fingers crossed this person is apprehended soon, the public are aware, there may be actual surveillance footage broadcast on the main news programmes.

And not intended to "victim blame" but why oh why would you leave a six year old alone in a mall or anywhere else for that matter?

Don't know the father's age, but he may have been raised in a time when children generally were safe from perverts and predators. We're living in a different world now.

I love that the filename of the guy's picture is "weirdo.jpg." LOL, APPROPRIATE.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I lol'd when I saw the name of the photo attached. Total weirdo, creep indeed, hope they catch the bugger ASAP.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

He should be caught ASAP but the idea of deleting the manga for some unique act has a bad consequence for the peace society

I hope that displaying the case is another show for promoting unstable society

I agree on the problem of masks and anonymity. The biggest problem is in summer where it is now acceptable in Japan to completely cover your features with a hat, shades and a mask. In my own country it is, with good reason, completely unacceptable to walk around like that, and you could expect to be verbally challenged for doing so.

There are some countries where women's faces are hidden, but I wonder if Japan is the only country in the world where it is permissible for grown men to walk around incognito?

Ah, the slippery slope of cultural imperialism and thinking you know best...

Interesting, how this week's drama "Border" had a similar situation.

A few anti-mask posts here, I see. I don't think it's a fair equation. He could just have easily have been wearing a baseball cap with the brim pulled down, or a sun visor, a wig, or spectacles/sunglasses. In my experience, people are perfectly recognizable even with masks on (at least, my friends and acquaintances certainly are). We usually recognize people by their eyes, not their jaws. I am quite sure that anybody acquainted with the suspect will be able to identify him easily from the photos or footage.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Was it Lalaport? Why didn't they put which shopping centre it was in the report?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Since they have a picture of him, they should be able to find him searching the motor vehicle license records. The mask should not impede finding him. Now this all depends on how good the NP are in cyberspace. As of the surgical masks, it think they are a good idea to prevent the spread of disease. You may become grateful for them if a pandemic comes along. The last one killed 25% and it attacked healthy people so some got on a train and never made it to their station. I would ban surgical masks yet....

They should plaster his face all over the city and someone will eventually recognize him! As he will surely be a target in the inmate community for his crimes, prison officials need to assign him protection so I suggest he be assigned a cell with yakuza who will surely take a keen interest in him and send a clear message to other inmates hands off. They will instill in him a deeper understanding of brotherly love and although he may never be totally cured, he will surely have some special memories and only the yaks will be willing to maintain that friendship and bond long after his release.

I agree with the statement made by LFRagain, if you look around the World and see how many Children are continuously being abused it is shameful.

Poor kid :( I hope this ordeal hasn't left him too traumatized :(

A lot of Japanese people think Japan is still safe. Unfortunately, times have changed and it's no longer safe. If I'm with my younger son and I have to go to the bathroom, he comes with me. If he has to go to the bathroom and my hubby isn't around, then he goes to the women's bathroom with me. My older son usually gets embarrassed to go into the women's bathroom so if hubby isn't around, he goes to the handicap/family bathroom with me at the door.

Again, poor kid :(

Ms. A Japan is still safer than most countries, it just seems that the summer always brings the nutters and perverts out of hibernation.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I would like to see those surgical masks banned.

I totally agree! Combine a mask with one of those full face visors worn by old ladies to block out the sun, and Japan is a paradise for fugitives.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

@LFRAgain yep im happy to hold the freak while you reap some vigilante justice, AMEN

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Wonder if this guy likes manga depicting young children in less than appropriate situations? When they catch this guy maybe the j-cops should take an inventory of his reading material, computer and websites visited.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I live in Funabashi. This warped P.O.S. had better hope he never gets caught by me doing anything to my child or anyone else's. I don't care what Japanese laws say regarding unnecessary use of force. A freak like this touches a child and I find him? He'll be lucky if he can still breath without assistance when I'm finished. Children are sacrosanct. You mess with them, you pay a steep price.

-2 ( +11 / -14 )

Sick. And not intended to "victim blame" but why oh why would you leave a six year old alone in a mall or anywhere else for that matter? It's sick enough as it is but I am glad nothing worse happened to that poor child.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

The sexuality of our youngsters here in Japan is rather worrying. And even though I bolster anime and manga as part of our national culture, I think they contribute to the weird sexualization of our youngsters. May this garbage be caught soon.

"Police said he took the boy to another restroom, made him take off his top and then pasted some bodily fluid on his stomach."

Weird. I'm guessing the bodily fluid was his sperm. Well, if they catch the weirdo, and it looks like there's a good chance they will, after they match the bodily fluid he pasted on the boy's stomach with his own, they can lock him up for a good long while. Hopefully he has a good amount of money/assets they can consficate to pay for his incarceration.

How away from the toy store was the toilet? No father or mother should leave his/her son alone as things like this might happen. Probably not as likely in Japan, but this time it did. Pretty clear photo. If the police cannot identify the young man, something definitely is wrong. Maybe I watch too much NCIS. Hope they get the guy soon!!

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

I don't actually think its worse now. I just think we're more aware of it which leads to, why would you leave a six your old child alone in a mall? Kids that age can stand outside the stall door and chat but they don't get left outside a toy store in my books. I see so many kids running around shopping centers and grocery stores. Drives me nuts. Not because they are screaming at the top of their lungs but because god knows what could happen to them if some sicko is around looking for a kid to molest.

Another predeter exposed, guess pedofilic manga was not enough for him( Art) thank god CCTV caught his mask covered face.
