A 56-year-old man was found stabbed to death in his apartment in Fukuoka, police said Saturday.
According to police, the body of Takashi Yoshimatsu was found by police lying on a futon in his first-floor apartment in Minami Ward at around 6:15 p.m. Friday, Fuji TV reported. Some acquaintances of Yoshimatsu had visited the police earlier that day, saying they were unable to contact him.
Police said there were several stab wounds to Yoshimatsu's body and that it appeared he had been dead for at least 24 hours.
Yoshimatsu lived alone and was self-employed, police said, adding that his car was missing. The windows and door to his apartment were locked.
