The only problem is what is the difference between taking a public video and this? Surely privacy laws need to be more strong?

Zaphod has it right. To explain further, Gaetz opposed a bill to outlaw revenge porn because he claimed such images were the property of the possessor.

There is a deep sickness in Japan! This type of videos and the toilet ones! I mean one got to be seriously mentally and sexually deficient to watch this kind of crap! They belong in a nut house.

When he is only fined 10% of what he gained, he will no doubt try it again but take greater efforts to hide his identity.

Firstly, this case is not about "revenge porn", secondly I am not aware about Matt Gaetz saying something about "revenge porn", thirdly if he did that would be irrelevant here.
Afaic, I am just amazed that the guy could actually earn 6 million yen by posting this nonsense.

US far right Republican wacks like Matt Gaetz, and other Florida-men in the 45 klan claim revenge porn is protected under the wack right"s sense of freedom of speech. It will be interesting to see whether this case is resolved, and in future how Japanese courts view similar cases.

Easy prey to intimidate others, he took the video himself, in secret, uploaded it without permission and was profiting from it.
It would be much more interesting to see when they prosecute people that take videos from sources allowed to film (like the TV) and put it for others to see without receiving any money. The damage to the victims is the same but it is very likely the people responsible can't be accused so easily.

No prosecution for the many young girls who are tricked into doing porn under the premise that there will be a film shoot to become a model / idol.

Give him some jail time to show you mean business.

People actually pay to see in low resolution the underwear under the clothes of a volleyball player??

Yeah this is different than the story a few weeks ago where the guy posted publicly available images of female athletes In a sexual context. This guy is absolutely guilty because he secretly took the video and posted on a porn site. Pervert. And stupid at that.

That's terrible!
Where are these videos now, I'd like to see them for evidence.

The most sad part is that there are idiots out there that actually paid to watch these garbage low quality sneak video's. Government actually really need to crack down hard on all of these websites.
