The understatement of the year here!

It always amazes and sickens me the amount of Sympathy expressed in Threads like these, For People guilty of horrendous crimes. But not a tear shed for two little girls, let alone the others.
gogogo
Wow... just lock this guy up and throw away the key. Those deaths, those people and children are horrible....

PC nonsense like this just impinges on my vicarious sense of outrage and my deeply-ingrained lust for revenge.
Can't we just ignore the facts, hang him, and congratulate ourselves on being solid, right-thinking folk, without a trace of any type of abnormality in our God-fearing souls?
nakanoguy01
who cares if he has a mental illness. heck, half the people i know have some type of mental illness. he still deserves to hang for what he did, especially for the murders of the two young girls.
lomae
This is actually a thing. My company specifically hires people with mental illnesses and also disabilities. They get a tax break for doing so. Most of the ones with disabilities are able workers, but those with mental illnesses usually get very basic jobs to do like run around with mail and cleaning.

What use is this guy to society? Mental illness or not he murdered two innocent girls not to mention a score of adults.. Get rid of him, death penalty and let's move on. Why even waste time and money storing this PoS somewhere?

How convenient....
sensei258
Of course he has a mental illness, he's killed six people including two children. But don't confuse mental illness with insanity.
DaDude
Yeah, but generally when the mental illness card is used, he will get less time then released into public with a protected identity.
pacint
True?
Where are the ' Saitama again' posters.
For me he won't go free just a question of jail vs mental asylum.
Either way he is confined which is good enough?
ebisen
...wait, does it mean he won't get the rope, but instead a lot of very very expensive treatments, for the rest of his miserable life now?... indeed, how convenient.
Strangerland
Some if not most do.
Sure, but not all mental problems mess with a persons head to the point that they don't know right from wrong.
sensei258
A person must be found "insane" not just "mentally ill", for them to be innocent even though they actually committed the crimes they are accused of. The legal definition of insane being, they were unable to tell right from wrong when they did whatever it was.

There are a lot of posters I'm not seeing on this thread who usually stick up for a person with mental illness, saying they're not guilty and it's not their fault... where are they now?
Lock the guy up for life, if not in regular prison, then a place for the criminally insane where he is away from society forever.
Dan Lewis
@lomae - exactly! We are literally paying these companies to hire ticking time bombs! Crazy!
pacint
Old deathrow Vs imprisonment/ etc argument.
On average 1 yr on deathrow equals 10yrs of imprisonment. Add in extra medical care and you get?
Can't let him die before execution. In general population no-one cares.Figure it out, either way he is confined.
ebisen
For sure NOT IN JAPAN! I'm pretty you're quoting old Amnesty International numbers for USA, debunked and proven false many times since. The Japanese prison system, not being the privatized mess the USA one is, makes sure that the costs of imprisonment are kept to the absolute bare minimum. There are excellent documentaries online about thie.
pacint
Show me your figures.
pacint
Dead easy. You say I am wrong show me verifiable figures that proof it. Not an unreasonable request is ir.

Satan! His brain is full of Satan! Burn the evil one. Burn him!
Strangerland
I remember when this happened. This guy was talking gibberish out the window before he let himself tumble out of it (resulting in the coma mentioned in the article).
If the guy didn't know right from wrong, he needs medical care, not imprisonment (or the death penalty).
ebisen
No murderer killing six in two days knows right from wrong, and has a very obvious mental problem. I dare say, every murderer has a very obvious mental problem...
Goodlucktoyou
life in a japanese prison is bad enough, but a mental asylum? the guy will rot in hell, naked, chained to a metal frame bed with no mattress, forced feed once a day. sounds reasonable.
Dan Lewis
Awww... poor guy!
Let him out and give him a nice cushy job. Wasn't there an article about a week or so ago about Japanese companies wanting to hire people with mental illnesses?
