Man jumps onto car of wife's underwear thief; holds on for 2.5 kilometers

A man in Kimitsu, Chiba Prefecture, clung onto the roof of a moving car for 2.5 kilometers to apprehend a thief who stole his wife's underwear, police said Monday.

According to police, the 32-year-old husband tied a fishing line and two bells to his wife's underwear to discover who had been stealing it from their balcony, Fuji TV reported. When the alleged thief returned at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, the woman's husband chased him outside and jumped onto the roof of his car. The suspect, who has been identified as 53-year-old Hiroshi Ishikawa, attempted to flee the scene and drove 2.5 kilometers with the man clinging to his roof.

Police said the man sustained a minor injury to his leg after he fell off the car roof, following which he immediately reported the incident to the police with a description of the car and license plate.

Police said they have arrested Ishikawa on a robbery charge. During questioning, Ishikawa was quoted by police as saying he kept driving because he was scared.

Stealing underwear? WTF do they do with them?

Disillusioned, some questions really are best unanswered!

Ishikawa was quoted by police as saying he kept driving because he was scared.

THAT's what they gleaned out of the interrogation??? Why he kept driving?

Thumbs up to the husband for initiative, at least.

Yeah, he was scared alright. Scared of getting caught! I think attempted murder should be added to his charges. What is with all these pathetic sexual deviates in Japan? I caught another guy filming up a young girl's skirt on the escolator at the station the other day. That makes six in four years! I didn't bother trying to apprehend him. I learned my lesson on that one after spending four hours in interrogation for apprehending one of these devos. This time I just gave him a good thump on the shoulder and a stare of disgust as I walked past him. It was enough to scare the shit out of him, round his eyes and he bolted from the station. There are some seriously demented sexual deviates in Japan. Stealing underwear? WTF do they do with them?

Hats off to the husband, a true gentleman in the rugged old-fashioned pistols at dawn tradition, defending his wife's honor.

... now if only they rescinded that silly ban on swords in public we might see a lot less of this sort of nonsense.

Dirty old pervert.

While I applaud this man for putting an end to this really sick mans behavior especially at his age. Clinging to a car for 2.5 kilometers! And then flying off the cars roof, to get what he could have gotten all along. He got the make of the car, its description, and license plate number, which he later gave to the police. He could have done all of this before he leaped onto the cars roof. He had enough time to leap onto the cars roof, which means he could also have gotten all the information as the car took off, that he later got after being thrown off and hanging on for 2.5 kilometers! This might have turned out much differently had he been seriously injured, or even killed. Not much solace for his wife had that been the case! I know his adrenalin was up, but doing what he did can get you really hurt! Panties just are not worth dying for!

;o! I salute to the wife's husband for chasing down the thief. Scholar and a Gentlemen xD

What is so great about stealing ladies underwear?? I am not saying that I do not get turned on by sexy undies, but go around stealing?? That is just wrong and sick!

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Will he do hard time?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

It's definitely not "right"!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

some barbed fish hooks hidden in the undies, connected to 50lb line secured robustly. Plenty of time to nab him, going nowhere. Just a thought..

mama..mia!! what a crezy mind the old fella have.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Hmmm I'd have told my mother to come live for a while, and to get some granny pants with her..we'd have hung up those to dry for a while muahahhahaha. Less risky I guess! Also wait for the thief to turn out and photograph him as he looks at the granny pants, then publish photo!

Is it right that this old bloke was consistently stealing the same woman's underwear?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's pretty badass all things considered, like right out of a Hollywood movie though he probably wasn't really thinking. People can do something mad things when their blood is up. There was that other guy Hideaki Akaiwa who dove into the 2011 tsunami twice to rescue his wife and mother, what's with all these Japanese men and these crazy acts of heroism. On another note I don't think this kind of perversion is anything unique to Japan, we get all kinds of deviancy everywhere but I'll admit Japan does push the boat when it comes to weird.

The girls' underwear dispensing machine must have been sold out. Who knew it would end in two men fishing for love in their own way.

pervy wanker

You know about husband, you just can't blame him for going all out to defend his Ladies' honour. Even if got read injured, Which is good that he didn't, but had he it wouldn't have diminished the shivery of his act or made it any less admirable. Sometimes a man has to step up and do what he has to do, even when others will fault his judgement, That's part of being man, and only those who know, know.

either expensive panties he bought or just freshly married ;-)

Hat's off to that husband! Would love to do the same! Some creep grabbed my girlfriend's rear one night when she was walking home alone. What I would give to get my hands on that guy. I've caught guys with cameras on the trains here too. And people just brush it off as a normal thing.

Now thats a real husband!

How did Ishikawa get caught? After the husband fell off his car roof, he gave up?

"tied a fishing line and two bells to his wife's underwear"

Instead of the two bells, he should have tied the fishing line to an iron so that Ishikawa would have got an iron right in the forehead!

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

He got that back?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Maybe there is a market for fake undies with tazer technology? (and with those unwashable paint they use on money during a bankrobbery) The perv gets a shock of his live and anyone can see he's a perv.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I am not from Japan. I need someone to explain the need to take another persons used underwear. I could understand if.. no on second though, I just don't get it! I mean, is there gold inside or something that I don't know about?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS .... WHACCHA GONNA DO?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Aaron.

Not only in Japan, my gran had her knickers stolen/sniffed too and she was 60+ at that time.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The bells were a good idea. Jumping on the hood of a car was not. Next time, get the plates and car description. Better your wife lose some underwear than her husband, or have a wheel-chair bound husband over it.

What makes a pervert? Celibacy. There has been a lot more of that going around since the bubble burst. Its only going to get worse as this society becomes more and more sexually repressive.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

To me it would be a smart idea to dry the underwear inside the house if there is such a huge problem at the residence, but I have to admit it sounds kind of fun to do some pervert fishing. "Wait honey do you hear the bells?" "I think we got a bite."

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Must have been one of his favorite pair of knickers.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

I think I saw this one in an action movie.....

Oops

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

If my husband did that for me, he would definitely be getting some ^_~ so brave

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Hats off?? Seems like a good adventure but he could have killed himself if that old pervert would have been a nut....the comments would have been 'what a stupid, he should have called police' if he was dead doing this act of bravery!!

Exactly!

2 solutions:

Dry the underwear inside If you set up a trap, follow him and write down the plate number. Hopefully police treat stolen underwear like they do stolen bicycles

I'll admit Japan does push the boat when it comes to weird.

Everybody thinks its some other country. Everybody.

What is weird is simply a matter of what you have not gotten used to yet. Everybody is weird to somebody, its just that some people are better at spotting what most others have or have not gotten used to and either hide what is not commonly used to, or emphasize what they have.

I have heard so many stories involving panties from many countries, I no longer think its weird. Its just really selfish to steal them.
