Man jumps to death after holding two female employees hostage in Fukuoka hotel

A 33-year-old man jumped to his death from his 7th-floor business hotel room after holding two female employees hostage for three hours in Fukuoka on Wednesday.

According to police, the man, who had been staying at the R&B Hotel near JR Hakata Station since Sunday, called the front desk at around 4 a.m. to complain that his TV wasn't working, Fuji TV reported. A woman employee in her 30s went to his room, but when she didn't return, another woman employee, also in her 30s, went up to the room. The man locked them both in and threatened them with a stun gun, police said, adding he also beat the first woman who came to his room about the head and face.

The man, whose name has not been released, let one woman out at around 6:20 a.m. and she called police and alerted other hotel staff. After police unsuccessfully tried to talk the man into coming out of the room, they broke in at 7:40 a.m. The man then jumped out the window before police could stop him. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The second hostage was uninjured, police said. The man's stun gun was found on the bed.

A passerby said the man's body was heavily tattooed, local media reported.

Why choose the final option when chances were good you would've gotten a suspended sentence

This story didn't say he was naked but that's what I read from a different story. The poor girls who just want to go to work are now probably traumatized by this idiot. Baffling.

I hope the woman who was beaten recovers quickly and fully.

Well, his family sure must have the "blues" now for his asinine behavior.

Maybe he was looking for "suicide by cop" but eventually realized he'd have to do it on his own.

It's very doubtful he would have got a suspended sentence.

suspended sentence is for "elite" criminals, hope it is valid assumption.

With people getting suspended sentences right and left for killing people, I'd say his odds were pretty d@mned good.

Very doubtful.

The man locked them both in and threatened them with a stun gun...he also beat the first woman... about the head and face

This guy sounds like a Yak who was trying to coerce the women into the porn industry. When he failed he did the honourable thing.

Well done to the women for reporting it!!

the honourable thing

Really? Where's the honor exactly?

"Really? Where's the honor exactly?"

He failed in his mission so he can hardly go back to face the boss...

A passerby said the man’s body was heavily tattooed, local media reported.

In the Japanese mind this just confirms that all people with tattoos are bad...

1 ( +4 / -3 )

No sure but I heard he had some tatoos on his back, could have been a "Yakuza" related or on drugs.

Not sure if you are being serious or writing a script. It gave me a good morning laugh though.

I am glad the women are safe.

Did he jump without clothes on? How could you tell if he was heavily tattooed?

That's the worst case of insomnia I've ever heard of.

Looks like it. I was wondering too.

At least the women weren't hurt in this scumbag's desire to end it all. Shame it came to that, but again, at least he didn't decide it's best for others to go with him.

"A passerby said the man’s body was heavily tattooed"

And?

Yakuza no doubt and just cold to hurt the woman.

"...just cold to hurt the woman."

There were 2 women.

There were 2 women.

Only one was beat up.

Totally odd.

Must have been terrible for the two ladies. The insane putting innocent life at risk.

Rip. Troubled soul now at rest.
