The girl had been walking home when Kimura abducted her, the police said, adding that the two were unacquainted with each other.

I wonder how they were acquainted. Hopefully, it was not through a dating app. I think there is a lot more to this than has been released by the media. It’s obvious the parents knew who he was too and that is why the cops were able to pick him up so quickly.

Anyone else think he was preparing for retirement, you know 20 million yen...

Glad to see that she is safe!

This just goes to show how unsafe Japan has become. Hope he didn't force himself on her.

If you need 20 million Yen go find a job and work for it.

Good for the girl and the family.

I am the only person which is wondering if the amount : 20 millions is just random or have some kind of deeper meaning regarding recent news ?

He sounds like a bumbling idiot which was good news for the girl, her family and the police

It should be obvious to all by now that the police can track your cell phone at any time they wish. They keep catching people so fast and there is never an explanation of how they do it.

Once again, yet another poster who has difficulty with actually READING an article before commenting.

He is old but he does not have to be sympathetic.

Yeah, he's too old to be kidnapping high school girls. But not nearly old enough to garner an ounce of sympathy. He is a pathetic loser at the upper edge of middle age. If he wants retirement money, he can earn it like the rest of us.

He is old but he does not have to be sympathetic. Abduction for ransom is felony. I hope that the wounds in her heart that arose from abduction will be healed.

Glad she's safe

Clearly a foolproof plan, designed by a genius.

Er... perhaps not.

According to the police, Kimura and the girl were together at an accommodation in nearby Atsugi city when officers rescued her shortly after 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

What the heck is "an accommodation" supposed to mean here? Was it a love hotel?

A 64-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl near Tokyo and demanding 20 million yen in ransom, police said Wednesday.

I have rediscovered the fact this time around that crime doesn't pay. I'm glad the girl was rescued by the police. Well done.

These idiots who think that they could actually get away with something like this is beyond me.

Glad she's okay, and I'm sure her parents are relieved. This could have turned out much worse.

another loser, and there are plenty of them out there in Japan, 99% of them are mummies boys.
