A man on a bicycle sprayed a liquid at two high school girls as they were walking to school in Takatsuki, Osaka, on Monday morning.

According to police, the two 18-year-old girls were walking through the Takastuki Center-Gai shopping area at around 8 a.m. when the man rode up and sprayed them, TV Asahi reported.

A witness called 119 and the girls were taken to hospital to be treated for eye injuries and burns to their hands, police said.

The assailant, who fled on his bike, is described as being 170-180 cms tall, of chubby build and was wearing a cream-colored coat.

Sick, poor girls must be frightened to walk outside now. These kind of actions seriously need to be punished severely to set an example.

Hopefully, security cameras in the arcade might be able to identify the suspect.

Jcapan.

08:00am most shopping arcades are rather quiet except for a few people rushing to catch their train.

Hope they catch that guy soon.

Another cowardly kook attacking innocents in Japan.

There's no mention of what kind of liquid he used, but if the girls were treated for burns it must have been some kind of acid.

why is it aimed at school girls/ rather than boys? is there some sort of grudge against girls?

Because these attackers are cowards...and young girls are less likely to fight back, whereas some boys may chase this guy down and beat the bajeebees out of him

"...why is it aimed at school girls/ rather than boys? is there some sort of grudge against girls?"

Likely some mommy issues in there, as well as the cute and innocent thing. Hope they get this scum bag.

And another nutjob crawls out from under his rock. I just hope the liquid was benign and not some kind of noxious or toxic chemical. Seriously, why would anyone do such a weird and potentially lethal thing?

I ve notice recently that there has been one or two attacks on school girls, 1 had her hair cut off 2 some skirts have been slashed on trains, 3 now a unknown liquid squirted over them. why is it aimed at school girls/ rather than boys? is there some sort of grudge against girls? either way they need to be caught.

Because they find them cute and vulnerable

This sort of drive-by acid spraying used to be very common in India. It is a sign of a masculine culture unable to deal with women more equal.

The only answer is to accelerate measures to ensure equal treatment for women in Japan ... and to find the individuals who are unable to accept this change and imprison them until they emerge blinking into a society that has changed for the better.

Sick ...

sometimes mental illness must be healed with the stick. These people should suffer as their victims .... I hope that Japanese law be adjusted accordingly.

I pray those girls eyes are not damaged. I also pray they catch this scum and lock him up.

In a shopping arcade--there must have been other passerby. I bet these guys who get off on assaulting small kids and defenseless girls would think twice if there was a bit of community policing (i.e. beatdowns by locals rightfully outraged).
