Became illegal due to the American occupation to keep the evil weed away from young, vulnerable service men.

0.02 ounce???? Is that even enough for a single smoke?

Enjoy your time in jail... what an idiot. Hope the video was worth it.

Mr Kondo should be lauded for challenging the outdated laws existing in Japan...
Zaphod
Nice. I hope they do not abuse him too much.

LOL, does not matter for the draconian laws they have here.

Congratulations to the brave man for making a statement about a rediculous law.

well I guess the police are fuming at being put on the spot and will smoke his ass, and he'll be toast.... or maybe being on YT will save his bacon....
jiji Xx
wonder if the police will bust him for nonconsensual videoing.....

If cannabis becomes legal in Japan, the police won't have any job left to do aside from randomly stopping bicycle riders but ignoring reports of bicycle theft.

Anyone knows where one can watch this stream?

He made his point.

You have extremely delicate friends. How much do they need to get drunk? A thimble of beer?

Take him to the cell and give him a hiding for being a smart are.

A lot more people are smoking cannabis in Japan than you think…they’re just doing it QUIETLY….clearly he wants to change the law regarding this herb.
Bjorn Tomention
He made a blunt statement !

He is a fool. The viewers are just getting amusement out of it. He will soon found out that nobody actually really cares what will happen to him after this. He just ruin himself for more views. He will soon found out where prison is not a place you want to spend just to get a few minutes of fame. Good luck ever finding a job in the future.

Depends on the strength of the cannabis. A half gram of Canadian cannabis would get any poster on this board high.
Gross. Why would you drink alcohol if you can get cannabis? Alcohol kills.

Probably skunk weed too.
Testify!

just watched the news on Youtube. J-news made a point of telling he "used to be an Youtuber overseas" lol those corrupted gaijins again...

First light offense: suspended sentence in most cases, but the judges might be a bit more harsh as his whole point was trying to stir up some conversation. Regarding job opportunities, japanese can be pretty anonymous in this place, all what matters is his education/skills. Still his venture got his passport banned in quite a few countries, including the USA.

Isn´t weed legal in many places in the US now? And since when do you need a passport to get in? Didn´t Biden say the borders are open now?
sourpuss
Every weed-smoking genius should demonstrate their moral superiority and so the same.

Yusei Kondo, 27!! A Martyr for Mota! Dontcha just sometimes feel like Mr. Kondo? Really! Just get fed up and want to do SOMETHING to express your profound disappointment and sadness at the stupidity of your own culture and back off because ya don't have the starch in your spine that Mr. Kondo so clearly displays here? And one does not invite a hyena to attack one without a motivation greater than its 'entertainment' value. The only way public conversations get started is if 'troublemakers' start them. Without 'troublemakers' we'd still have Daimyos... ...and maybe, only a faint maybe, other frustrated and disappointed people began to emulate Mr. Kondo and go to their local Kobans with half thimblefuls of whatever they can make to look like pot until the system strikes its tent and decides to get out of the way of a new generation expressing just a shred of its displeasure with the old...or not...optimism vis-a-vis Humanity is a fool's opiate...

Borders are federal, where it's illegal. State laws don't have any impact on laws at the border.
No. Is this the new lie they're telling you in the bubble these days?
ian
Wonder what he thought when the high wore off. Or maybe he wasn't high, just really stupid
Danny Nguyen
As more studies come out showing that weed is less damaging to one's body compared to alcohol and tobacco, I swear many countries need to review their antagonism towards marijuana. Want to keep banning it? Ban alcohol and tobacco as well, and then we'll see how people react.
ian
Even if it's less damaging than alcohol or tobacco, it's no reason to legalize it.
WilliB
Strangeland
Ah OK, that makes sense. I did not realize that are federal laws about this.
Question of honne and tatemae, no? A border that you can walk across, get detained as a formality and then released into the open is de facto open, even if it is protected on paper.
And you talking about residing in an information bubble... that is pretty rich, lol.
ian
Well if it's not legal it's not really smart to do so.
But do takeit in moderation it you do, else you might find yourself in a koban filming yourself.
WilliB
ian
In that case, I recommend better editing. Most of the video was just him skateboarding, and at the short koban session the camera was pointed down, so all we sa were shoes.

Yes, it's definitely better to imprison people for the inane reason of carrying a plant that doesn't harm them.
Because somehow imprisoning people for victimless crimes makes more sense than not doing so right?
Strangerland
Weird answer to whether or not that's the new lie that they're telling you in the bubble.
So I'll assume yes, that is the lie, and no, right-wingers don't know to check facts.
William Bjornson
There are two substances on this planet that can truly be called 'senescence mitigators', that help to support the heaviest weight that any Human ever has to carry: YEARS. Coffee (STRONG AND PLENTY) and Mota. Coffee helps prop up the mitochondria and Mota irons the creases out of muscles and joints...
You called it, Sir!! But I must add one additional idea, firstly, such people have to learn what a "fact' really is since they are so rarely exposed to them by their 'Trusted Authorities' (TA). For many, WHATEVER their 'TAs' tell them IS FACT, no need to fact check. It would be like fact checking Jesus...'reality' for many are just the voices in their heads telling them who wants to kill them...and knowing themselves...they believe it.
