Man posts live video of him drowning cat in Nagano river

Nagano prefectural police on Monday arrested a 29-year-old man on charges of violating animal cruelty laws after it was discovered that he had posted an online video in which he drowned a cat in a river.

Police said the suspect has admitted to the crime. According to the man, on the evening of June 29, he filmed himself with his smartphone while he held a cat in a cage and submerged it in a river, Sports Nippon reported. Afterwards, he uploaded the 15-minute video online.

The suspect was quoted by police as saying he killed the cat because he had become frustrated following a series of incidents in which various cats had ruined his garden, and invaded his home and gotten into his food, Sports Nippon reported. He told police he wanted to eradicate the local feline population.

The man uploaded the video onto a website on which he had already posted various videos and pictures showing what life was like in his rural town. "I wanted to show that one could eradicate these pesky felines. I recognize that uploading that clip was brash, and I've since reflected on the callousness of my actions," he was quoted as saying.

Police said they were alerted to the incident after someone saw the video online and contacted them. The man also received a lot of negative comments following the posting.

Marie, so you think the pound is humane, in the way they gas strays?

I watched a documentary here in Japan which followed caged animals (mostly dogs as I recall) as they were pushed out of their holding cages by solid metal walls, and then pushed scrabbling down a long metal corridor into the gas chamber. All mechanized. The camera was left in there with them, filming their terrified eyes, throughout the whole antiseptic process as the door was locked and the gas turned on...

There is no easy answer, but cruelty certainly does not have to be part of the process. His cruelty rouses something loathsome inside me so that I get flashes of what I would enjoy doing to him, the lowlife. Luckily to be human means, or should mean, making an effort to rise above our base nature among other things, and seeing life with empathy from different perspectives.

Why do the gruesome tales always take place in prefectures with names that start with N?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There was a picture on CNN of an elephant crying after being released (tears of joy) from painful shackles of 30 years. Yes, and this goes against everything my English teachers taught me about animals being incapable of feelings, I do believe that animals are capable of experiencing a wide range of feelings and emotions. As a life long dog owner, I remember we had one clever dog which would bring its empty water bowl to us when we forgot to fill it. One time my father beat the same dog for smiling at him which he mistook for baring its teeth at him in a threatening way. He didn't stop until I jumped in between him and the dog. When I explained that the dog was smiling, he told me that that was ridiculous and that dogs were incapable of smiling. Anyway, I do believe that there is a need to learn about and empathize with animals more and to not mistreat or abuse them.

Sick. Wasn't there a young lady a couple weeks ago that dismembered her cat and put it on weibo or something? What's with these people?

That was in PRC.

This is a video of the guy getting and responding to severe and well deserved backlash from the net commenters. There is something definitely something wrong with him in the way he is responding to the comments.

@gaijintraveller

If memory serves me, I think the penalty is up 1 year in prison and or up to 1 million in fines. But being Japan, he'll probably be let off on probation.

Having said that, this guy's life isn't going to be too pleasant going forward. That video, and his picture is all over the internet. He'll probably have a hard time getting a job, because now he has a criminal record for cruelty to animals. He'll also have a hard time getting a date unless the person who's interested in dating him is also a sadistic lunatic.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So did the police charge him with anything? I believe there are now some laws about cruelty to animals in Japan, laws that are never or rarely enforced. I supposed he had to sign a gomenasai letter and that was it.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

We should demand a video of him in the cage submerged till dead

I don't think he deserves to die, but I wouldn't mind seeing him water boarded. Perhaps then he would understand how frightened that poor cat was in the last minutes of its life.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

We should demand a video of him in the cage submerged till dead... that would be a sufficient punishment!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What a sick man. They want to look him up and throw away the key.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

What a bright spark. more and more dummies post themselves doing stupid or illegal stuff and get caught......

0 ( +0 / -0 )

normal people don't snap and take pleasure in killing animals.

Who called him normal? I certainly didn't. I'm just drawing a distinction between killing an animal and killing a person, and saying that they don't necessarily go hand-in-hand.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

But I certainly don't see it as a foregone conclusion just because he viciously killed one stray cat.

Just want to add that. it's not only the fact that he killed a cat that leads me to believe that this person has the ability to kill humans. Let's face it, people kill animals everyday. Hell, people kill animals for a living, but I wouldn't classify them as having the potential to kill people too. Its the fact that he callously watched this cat suffer (shivering and gasping for air) as he poked and prodded the cage with a stick, trying to shove it into a deeper part of the river to get it to sink so that the cat would suffer more. Its also the fact that sought approval from onlookers by broadcasting his actions, and ENJOYED doing it. People who gain pleasure enjoyment from seeing animals suffer, as this man clearly did, so much that he felt he needed to share it with the world -I would argue that these types of people don't have the ability to understand how wrong it is to take a life (any life) the way he did, hence I would definitely mark this guy as a potential for having the mind set to kill another human being.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I'm saying it's possible that he's been in some life-altering miserable situation that caused him to snap. Certainly not grounds for torturing a cat by any means, but also certainly not an indicator that he's going to be butchering up the neighbor kids the next time they're noisy

The toe rag himself says he was 'frustrated'; he doesn't claim anywhere that he was going through any kind of 'life-altering situation'. Your assumption has no basis at all, but even giving you the benefit of the doubt and allowing that it might be a possibility - most people go through 'life-altering miserable situations', we all at some time in our lives lose loved ones, lose/fail to get jobs, get into debt; it doesn't send us on cat-drowning sprees, or cause us to live-stream ourselves looking happy and pleased at ourselves for the atrocious act we've just committed. So I'd say I disagree with you; normal people don't snap and take pleasure in killing animals. People who snap are dangerous and unpredictable. I'd say there is every chance that without the medical help he so obviously needs, this sad apology of a human is well on the path to butchering up the neighbourhood kids.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@The Original Wing

Being "frustrated" over any situation doesn't give anyone the right to do with this individual did. And I think you are giving this guy way too much credence by making excuses for him. You're assuming that there was a situation, other than the fact that the cat pooped all of his yard, that drove him to do this. Simply put, there wasn't! I know, because I watched the video, and the whole time, he expressed how much he hated this cat for messing up his property. He didn't mention losing loved ones, or stress from work, or any other reason other than the fact that this cat frustrated him. And EVEN IF he was stressed out by some other unfortunate incident happening in his life, we can't dismiss the fact that he video taped AND broadcasted himself drowning a cat in a river, and seemingly expressing joy from it. He was clearly seeking approval from onlookers; approval no one gave him, and consequently got arrested for cruelty to animals. WHY? Because THIS isn't normal civilized behavior. This is behavior of clearly trouble mind who needs psychiatric attention.

I'm saying it's possible that he's been in some life-altering miserable situation that caused him to snap.

Again this is clearly an unfounded assumption on your part. This article doesn't mention such "life-altering miserable situation", the police statement doesn't mention it, and more importantly HE himself doesn't mention on video or anywhere else. I would think if the cops where questioning you over an unthinkable act that you just committed and broadcasted for everyone to see, you would mention the "life-altering miserable situation" that drove you to do it, IF there was one.

Does anybody know where the video is?

I have to visually profile these kinds of people.

Someone please provide a link!!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

tmarie, they come out of the woodwork whenever there's a thread about animal welfare/animals being treated badly/animals being treated well; it seems some folk can't resist posting that they know people are more important than animals, animals are only animals and there for us to use and abuse, being an animal lover 'proves' you hate people, etc etc etc. I feel very sorry for folk whose affections cannot cross the species divide.

Agreed Cleo.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

From the article - The suspect was quoted by police as saying he killed the cat because he had become frustrated following a series of incidents. From which I take it, from the horse's mouth as it were, that when he gets frustrated he gets the urge to kill. Is there a different way to read it? This time a cat, next time possibly a kid or a little old lady, whatever presses his frustration button.

The point is that "being frustrated" is not a specific thing. I get frustrated about racism. I also get frustrated when I try to solve a Rubik's cube. I'd be frustrated if my relationship with my wife was failing. These are 3 vastly different situations, which would lead to 3 vastly different results, and yet we can use the word "frustrated" for all of them. You're making it sound like they're all the same, and that the next time this guy gets caught in the rain without an umbrella, he's going to start slaughtering the nearest passers-by. For all we know, he could have been going through a horrendous time with people close to him dying, getting fired from his job, having horrendous debt, etc. etc. Who knows? We certainly don't know - that's my point. From your comments, you presume to know exactly why he killed the cat, but I'm sorry, "being frustrated" doesn't exactly tell us any factual details about what he's been through or what his state of mind was. I'm saying it's possible that he's been in some life-altering miserable situation that caused him to snap. Certainly not grounds for torturing a cat by any means, but also certainly not an indicator that he's going to be butchering up the neighbor kids the next time they're noisy, as you suggested.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@The Original Wing

Utter nonsense. You have no idea why he did it, or that what he did is any kind of pattern of what he does when he feels frustrated, and you have no idea that it would translate to violence towards children. You've given us a string of presumptions with no factual information whatsoever.

I watched the video, and as he was trying to drown the cat, he was trying to justify his actions by stating "I don't want to kill this cat, but it keeping making a mess. I have no choice"

No, he had a lot of choices. He could have taken it to the pound, or to another neighborhood, or tried to find a home for it. If it had an owner, he could have complained tot he owner and threatened a lawsuit for damages is nothing was done to keep the cat in check.

The fact that he didn't consider ANY of these options and went straight to thinking that killing in the gruesome manner that he did was the ONLY solution, tells me that that he has serious issues. The video clearly demonstrates that this individual has no value for life, or compassion for living creatures.

As he was poking and prodding the cage, trying to sink it in deeper waters, and the cat looking so distressed and frightened, all he could do is curse because it wasn't going as smoothly as he predicted. This is what a deranged murderer does, not a person in their right mind.

When he got back into his car, he was smiling, gleeful, and seemingly proud of what he had done. Not to even mention that he LIVECASTED the whole thing. WHO THE HELL DOES THAT? This is not what a "frustrated" human being does. These are actions of an individual with a serious mental defect - an individual missing a fundamental part of their brain that tells normal people like us that killing is WRONG!

This is why that it's totally conceivable that this guy's actions could escalate into a much more serious crime. What if a small child where to anger or "frustrate" him? You don't think that it's beyond his ability to cause serious harm to the child or even kill him had this whole incident gone unchecked? Many past murders have started off with the killing of pets and moved up from there, when the killer felt got a rush from it, or didn't caught or reprimanded for it, so I personally think this guy was on the path to kill.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Sicko. Karma will follow him.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I am "cat lover" and this makes me sick to my stomach as if happened to a human being. It is not major news in Japan yet but I really really hope this story becomes more known and his picture gets out to many people. He will be released but I hope he lives the rest of his life in shame or even fear of other people who know or recognize him.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

did he go out of his way to actually catch a muggy

According to some of the vernacular reports I've read, the scumbag 'set a trap in the garden'.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Feral or domestic. in this case doesn't matter. It is cruelty to animals case closed. If I knew this man he would be in for harsh punishment. the absolute heartless actions of this man show to me he needs some sort of help. Now, that being said. I wouldn't cry if some vigilante called Catman broke his arms and legs and tossed him into a lake.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Seriously, how can anyone put a cat into a cage, put it under the water in a river and let the poor thing suffocate in agony? This guy is sick.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The suspect was quoted by police as saying he killed the cat because he had become frustrated following a series of incidents in which various cats had ruined his garden, and invaded his home and gotten into his food, Sports Nippon reported. He told police he wanted to eradicate the local feline population.

Invaded his home? Did he go out and leave his windows open? Did he leave food where cats could see or smell it? Or did he go out of his way to actually catch a moggy. After all, where did he get the cage from? Not the kind of item you would have hanging around the garden shed unless you had a pet bird or rodent. Creep's a sadist, pure and simple, without a shred of decency in his hateful, pathetic body.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I think Japan needs to beef up ways to deal with mentally ill people and mental illness in general. I'm sure there are thousands if not millions of people who could be bi-polar, sociopath liars, passive aggressive, emotionally disturbed etc....all needing help but have no where to turn to.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Utter nonsense. You have no idea why he did it, or that what he did is any kind of pattern of what he does when he feels frustrated

Mirai Hayashi - I wish I hadn't read your post. I have no intention of watching such a gruesome video or of giving this scumbag any more fame, but your description is burned on the back of my brain. That poor cat....

The owner if in existence must feel pretty stupid

More like enraged. I know I would be.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

People down on the farm used to drown cats...but the fact that this guy did this with no way of knowing if the cat was someone's property (pet) and the fact that he filmed and uploaded it...makes me think he's something other than just a down-to-earth farmer sort who needed pest control.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I hope it will serve as a warning to cat owners, to keep your cat inside, you never know what lunatics walk around... Or some law abiding citizen calls the city office and your dear cat ends up in the gas chamber... The owner if in existence must feel pretty stupid for being so irresponsible now.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

cleo: There is no suggestion anywhere that he killed the cat in order to save the life of a person; he did it because he was frustrated (and sadistic), and now that we know that he's a sadistic little toe rag and what he does when he's frustrated, we have a pretty good idea of what his reaction to a neighbour's noisy kids would be.

Utter nonsense. You have no idea why he did it, or that what he did is any kind of pattern of what he does when he feels frustrated, and you have no idea that it would translate to violence towards children. You've given us a string of presumptions with no factual information whatsoever.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

I did some digging around and found the actual video as well as his picture on the internet. His picture is all over the internet. He must be the most hated guy in Japan at the moment.'

He is a true monster! He tried to drown the cat, but the part of the river he dump the cage in was not deep enough, so the cat was still sticking its poor little nose up out of the little part of the cage that was still sticking up out of the water. All the while, this scum is cursing, and wishing that the water was deeper so he could drown the cat faster.

As he was leaving the river, he looks back at the cat and say "its trembling so it should die soon", and then points his camera phone to a deeper part of the river and says "I should have drowned it over there. it would have gone much quicker. I guess I have to come back later and check on it"

So most likely, the cat didn't drown, it probably died of hypothermia if no one saved it. That video and the image of that cat trying to prod its nose out of the cage is going to haunt me. I shouldn't have watched it, but curiosity got to me. This scum deserves prison. If you don't think so, look at the picture of him smiling into camera, seemingly proud and unremorseful of what he had done. He's a monster and a criminal and this could definitely have escalated into something much more serious if he wasn't caught.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Next he will be carving up people if he's let loose in society. Life in prison for this wacko...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@BPoint

Mirai.....so, what do think the pound is going to do after a few weeks?

Here's what they WON'T do: drown it in a river.

If they don't find an owner it will be put to sleep...the humane way!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I'd support 100 dogs (or cats or whatever) being killed before I'd support 1 person being killed.

There is no suggestion anywhere that he killed the cat in order to save the life of a person; he did it because he was frustrated (and sadistic), and now that we know that he's a sadistic little toe rag and what he does when he's frustrated, we have a pretty good idea of what his reaction to a neighbour's noisy kids would be.

Since when it caring about animal welfare being on a high horse?

tmarie, they come out of the woodwork whenever there's a thread about animal welfare/animals being treated badly/animals being treated well; it seems some folk can't resist posting that they know people are more important than animals, animals are only animals and there for us to use and abuse, being an animal lover 'proves' you hate people, etc etc etc. I feel very sorry for folk whose affections cannot cross the species divide.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I disagree with the comments suggesting that he'll soon be killing people. I would never advocate violence towards animals, and I would never advocate violence towards people. That said, I don't hold them as equals. I'd support 100 dogs (or cats or whatever) being killed before I'd support 1 person being killed. So is it possible that he's a deranged, sick person who'd turn his inner rage on the neighbors? Sure, anything's possible. But I certainly don't see it as a foregone conclusion just because he viciously killed one stray cat.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

I'm not a cat person, and I've been angry when spotting another dead bird in the garden with a smug looking moggy nearby, but I wouldn't hurt one, much less kill one. How anyone can do this to an animal defeats me... what kind of sick, twisted individual gets his jollies out of drowning a cat in a cage... and filming the whole effing murder!

Lock him up before he drowns the local kids for making a noise as they play outside during their summer holidays.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Mirai.....so, what do think the pound is going to do after a few weeks?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Easy fix for for the cats...call the pound, have them pick the cat up if it doesn't have an owner...no need to kill....damn savage!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Disgusting. I hope he serves some time in prison for that.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

if the kid next door poos and urinates in your garden I'd think you'd have a go at the parents

You'd complain, yes. You wouldn't drown the kid (or any random kid you happened to catch, not necessarily the guilty one) in a cage and then brag about it on Youtube.

Unless you were a psychopath, like Mr. Live Video.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Shame they cant be managed in some way... That is neutering for free then releasing in certain areas. I am sure some factory areas need cats to keep the vermin out.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

That is sick. Subconsciously he wants to do that with humans.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

All readers, please calm down and keep the discussion civil.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The thumbs down are because your comments are insensitive and harsh. You know what I hate? The sounds of the screaming child from next door when I am out in my garden but such is life. I'm not going to kill the child nor am I going to complain about it because there are bigger problems in life than that.

Sure you wouldn't kill one, neither should you kill an animal, but if the kid next door poos and urinates in your garden I'd think you'd have a go at the parents or are would that be insensitive? Maybe my comments sound harsh to cat loving folks, but they're completely realistic...stray cats are a nuisance. Comparing kids to cats is just plain silly anyway and it shows how much you care about cats and how little about people... Stray cats poop in parks/gardens/ sandboxes and public places where kids are, cat poop is toxic to people, especially pregnant women and kids. The infective form of Toxoplasma gondii deposited in cat poop are called oocysts; a single infected cat can deposit millions of oocysts, each of which may survive in moist soil for 18 months or longer. It's thought that it only takes one oocyst to infect a human, which is concerning. So get of your high sensitive horse!

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

The suspect was quoted by police as saying he killed the cat because he had become frustrated following a series of incidents in which various cats had ruined his garden, and invaded his home and gotten into his food, Sports Nippon reported. He told police he wanted to eradicate the local feline population.

The cat army invaded his house and ate his food? The guys either lives in the woods or he is trying to justify his insane actions.

This guy needs to be taken to a nice safe padded cell because he is nuts. If he isn't put away his next crime will be against a human.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Maybe he should have called Animal Control.

Or maybe he should have just grown up and realised that the solution to a problem doesn't have to involve sadism. He could have put down those plastic spiky mat things to keep the kitties out of his garden, and closed the door to keep them out of his food. But no, it was probably much more ...fun... to do the 'kill a cat slowly and brag about it on Youtube' thing - which is what makes this sad excuse for a human being a psychopath who need keeping away from animals and children for the rest of his miserable life.

The end result..a dead cat...ultimately.

The end result is that we're all dead ultimately. Your point?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

JT posts never cease to amuse. I don't agree with the what the guy did. Maybe he should have called Animal Control. That would have been ok...right? The end result..a dead cat...ultimately. I remember my grandmother talking about drowning cats back on the farm in the 30's. It was a matter of fact to keep the number of cats in check. According to all of you...my sweet old granny was a monster.....and that's funny. Feral cats are big problem around our area. A local vet did a spay and neuter program a few years back but it didn't really change anything.

BTW...I'm a cat and dog owner.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

What's with all the thumbs down, you folks don't mind the stench of ammonia in your garden? Cats and dogs aren't wild animals and they shouldn't be treated as such.

The thumbs down are because your comments are insensitive and harsh. You know what I hate? The sounds of the screaming child from next door when I am out in my garden but such is life. I'm not going to kill the child nor am I going to complain about it because there are bigger problems in life than that.

Cats in this country ARE often wild animals because many folks here don't get their pets fixed and when Kitty gets too much to handle, she gets tossed outside and has kittens. Blame the humans for this.

Oh and to suggest there are no wild animals in surbia is wrong. I've got pheasants, foxes, mice... in my area. Lovely to see.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

that's so wonderful. My wife and I just spend over 2 man rescuing two kittens.... so while we do our best to save the cats in our neighborhood these morons are out there killing them. If these idiots would spay and neuter their animals people like my wife and I wouldn't be the ones paying to save all the babies.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

This man is criminal!!! I hate animal cruelty!!!

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Its funny how he thought that uploading the video was brash and callous, and yet the killing was okay? Please put this fool behind bars for a while...he's a serial killer in the making and should be stopped now.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Cats are God's creatures! Anyone who treats cats like this guy did should be executed!!

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

next time a cat poos and pees in my garden I'll go out and thank the owner

If the cat has an owner it shouldn't be out pooing in your garden. House cats should be exactly that, house cats, not allowed to roam about outside - both because of the nuisance they cause to others, and because of the danger to the cat itself from traffic, birds (we have some huge hawk-like avians round these parts for whom kitty would be just a snack) and loonies like our live-video man.

And I agree with Frungy - I hope the owner comes forward and sues him for every last yen he has and then some.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

"I wanted to show that one could eradicate these pesky felines. I recognize that uploading that clip was brash, and I've since reflected on the callousness of my actions," he was quoted as saying.

Is he apologizing for killing the cat or posting the video of him killing the cat?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Erm....that's wot Silvafan is saying. That plague of cats is keeping the rodents down.

Ha ha nice job turning it around, well next time a cat poos and pees in my garden I'll go out and thank the owner for protecting our neighborhood against a rat/mice plaque...next up I'll ask the dog owners to release their dogs to protect us against the cat plaque...finally calling the police to help us with the dog plaque....

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

Double twit! First he killed the cat then he posted a video of himself doing it?

However, on the other side of the coin, there is a huge problem with both feral and domestic cats in Japan. They are everywhere! But, that doesn't mean he should kill them, of course.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Wow. I agree with a number of posters here. This man's actions raise the proverbial red flag to new heights.

According to modern psychology, a working theory for explaining a person's tendency towards, among other unpleasant things, animal cruelty, is called the Dark Triad. This triad is an interconnected expression of three distinct personality characteristics: Narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. New research suggests that a fourth characteristic, sadism, be added to create a better model for predicting antisocial human behavior, resulting in a "Dark Tetrad."

In any case, the right combination of expression of these characteristics is, theoretically, a potentially strong predictor for how antisocial a person will become. The man who drowned this cat, posted the video online with nary a concern for what would surely be public outrage, then justified his actions afterwards with a perfectly crafted public and fully empathetic apology that doesn't mesh at all with the inherent cruelty it would require to even contemplate drowning a living thing, much less carry it out and parade the results in front of friends and neighbors?

This creep is demonstrating at least three out of the four Dark Triad characteristics, including sadism, narcissism, and a Machiavellian bent towards pride, egotism, and a clear lack of any sentiment that might interfere with personal, selfish goals. By most psychological standards, this guy is suffering from pathology requiring treatment.

Yes, armchair psychology to be sure. But I know an asshat when I see or hear one. And this man is not someone I would wish to be in close proximity to for any reason. And I sure as heck wouldn't want him near my family or friends.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

It reminds me of the boy in Kobé who started by killing birds, then cats and finally stuck the head (he had severed) of another boy on a gate post... Psychiatric care is definitely needed in this case too but it seems that in Japan, the stigma of being treated for "mental problems" is too great on the relatives of the sick person, so very little is done about it...

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I do not cats either, but that is not the point, a crazy nut case drowning a cat and taking videos is just WRONG and SICK!! It does not matter if you love cats or hate them, but killing a poor cat like this is strange and I hope this nutter is locked up and gets mental treatment!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Who can do that to a cat can do that to a human. Lock him away for many, many years. I wish he'll be badly abused by his prison mates..

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Those felines you dislike so much are the same predators that keep the rodent population down in your area.

nah in my neighborhood I've never seen a rodent or any wild animal, the only plaque(sic) we suffer from are stray cats

Erm....that's wot Silvafan is saying. That plague of cats is keeping the rodents down.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

You do realize that most of the cats in cities are feral, ie have no owners, they are wild so to speak.

Not so much here in the suburbs, this is a brand new area. What's with all the thumbs down, you folks don't mind the stench of ammonia in your garden? Cats and dogs aren't wild animals and they shouldn't be treated as such. The fair amount of flat cats on the roads reminds me that most owners aren't responsible.....the only solution is to chip all cats and present their owners with a fine in case of negligence. The only way folks will listen unfortunately.

oh Boy, show this video to another Cats who ruined your Garden,

DD,

You do realize that most of the cats in cities are feral, ie have no owners, they are wild so to speak.

I agree they are a problem & more should be done, humanely however, not like the idiot who drowned the cat, hope he is locked up or at minimum does a whole lot of community service, perhaps cleaning cages at the closest animal shelter, under direct supervision of course!

This guy has no heart

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I sincerely hope that the cat had an owner. Why? Because it seems there's no real penalty for animal cruelty in Japan, however the laws on theft and destruction of property could get this guy sent to the slammer for years. Now I'd rather see him get psychiatric help, but if he won't and the police won't make him then the next best thing is for him to be in prison.

He needs to be removed from society, such behavior can soon find its release turned towards other living animals including humans.

I hate cats but no matter how pesky they are, I would never resort to killing, torture, etc. to get rid of them. This is a despicable act by a sorry individual.

Those felines you dislike so much are the same predators that keep the rodent population down in your area. If people got those hamster you praise then don't complain when their family come to visit!

nah in my neighborhood I've never seen a rodent or any wild animal, the only plaque we suffer from are stray cats and the occasional bozozuku. But don't misunderstand me. I'm very strongly against cruelty to animals, but some of their owners deserve a lesson in good manners..especially cat people.

Sick. Wasn't there a young lady a couple weeks ago that dismembered her cat and put it on weibo or something? What's with these people?

@Dutchduck

I absolutely hate cats who come into my garden, and I hate their selfish irresponsible owners even more, but drowning one is just plain sick, instead he should have looked for the owners and urinate/poo in their gardens...especially the places where their kids are playing.

After reading all these comments, I think I'll take a cat nap. On the other hand, to keep cats away from your garden, get a dog.

What is the difference between a cat dumping in your garden and another wild animal? My garden has all sorts of visitors, snakes, racoon dogs, birds, mice, foxes.... I could go on. Is it just cat crap you dislike or is fox poo equally distasteful? Let's annihilate all creatures just because they upset sensitive humans shall we?

That's a great attitude if you live in the sticks, there are no wild animals here in suburbia. A cat taking a crap in my garden where my kids play is as revolting to me as a dog taking a crap in my garden. And I know it's not the cat who's to blame, therefore taking a crap in their irresponsible owners garden is great form of "a poo for a poo". If you buy a cat keep it inside otherwise buy a freaking hamster.

Disgusting. Just digusting. I'm with Cleo. Lock him up before he starts in on kids. Takes a big man to put a cat in a cage and drown in. Idiot.

Zoosadist or a person that performs acts of animal cruelty, though is more than just a crime. It is also a sadistic personality disorder found to co-exist with many other personality disorders and considered to be one of three indications of a sociopath. As such, he needs too seek help and get professional assistance.

maybe he should be water-boarded just a little bit in order to make him realize what that cat went through

Just a little bit? No.

The man is sick. He should be locked up in a secure facility, before he gets 'frustrated' at the local children.

I recognize that uploading that clip was brash, and I’ve since reflected on the callousness of my actions

It seems he regrets uploading the video and not necessarily with drowning the cat.

16 ( +16 / -0 )

I'd like to do the same to him

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Sick. I understand the frustration of dealing with stray cats and other pests, but you don't kill them, and you especially don't kill them cruelly, or tape it!

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

Cruel and a coward who don't want to get his hands dirty by snapping its neck. Cats are great until they become pests and are no different from crows and mice. I had a family living under our house. I just blocked the hole and mom took them away. They probably died, but food choices are abundant in a city compared to a rural area.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

He ought to be arrested for cruelty to animals

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Now I am extremely against water-boarding, but maybe he should be water-boarded just a little bit in order to make him realize what that cat went through.

Sick man. Drowning a cat won't solve your first world problems...
