Police in Yokohama said Monday they are questioning a 44-year-old man over a spate of mysterious fires that took place Sunday night and early Monday morning.

According to police, there were five fires within a 100-meter radius in a residential area in Minami Ward. NTV reported that the fires occurred from 10 p.m. Sunday to 3:30 a.m. Monday and included trash containers and car covers.

Police said the suspect, identified as Masaharu Ezawa, was seen leaving a parking lot where one of the cover of a car was set alight just after 3:30 a.m. Police said Ezawa does not live in the area.
