Man re-arrested for making death threats against comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto

Police in Tokyo have re-arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of posting death threats against Hitoshi Matsumoto from the comedy duo Downtown.

According to police reports, Wataru Soma, a systems engineer from Tokyo’s Mitaka City, allegedly posted online death threats against the famous comedian and his family, Fuji TV reported. Furthermore, Soma made bomb threats on an internet bulletin board against a performing arts training school for aspiring entertainers.

Police said Soma has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying, “I wanted to make a huge commotion so I wouldn’t be ignored. But I had no intention of harming anyone.”

Soma was first arrested earlier this month for making similar online death threats against the Japanese comedy duo Ogi-Yahagi.

Soma made bomb threats on an internet bulletin board

Soma was first arrested earlier this month for making similar online death threats against the Japanese comedy duo Ogi-Yahagi.

Seems like he doesn't like comedians.

Well, it's a subjective thing, is comedy.

But possibly not the brightest thing to make death threats online (or anywhere), is it?

“I wanted to make a huge commotion so I wouldn’t be ignored.

How's all that attention feel, now?

Eejit.

Just a 25-year old brat who needed attention who coincidentally was raised in a toxic 5chan environment. Of course there are many others like him, but his idiocy went above and beyond by sending death threats. At least there's no Internet in jail.

Idiot. Get a hobby, a second job or go to the gym instead.

This kid sounds like a real piece of work! He could have just did the tidepod challenge instead and posted it online! He would have gotten more views!

Feeling ignored does all sorts of crazy things to people. Sad his desire for attention led him down such a wrong route.

Some people thing the world is made to please them, its difficult to imagine how he could think he would make it out of this without being arrested.

This is the most foolish way to get attention. This idiot should know that there are many other ways to be able to get attention without being arrested.

Why did he make death threat to this comedian? Did he get jealous because the comedian was getting attention? Don't give police officer extra work please.
