Man re-arrested over attempted rape of restaurant worker

Police in Tokyo have re-arrested a 40-year-old man, already in custody over an alleged rape, on suspicion of attempting to rape a young woman who worked at the same restaurant as he did.

According to police, Kuniaki Uoka, a former employee of Skylark Holdings Co, broke into the apartment of a woman in her late teens in Kodaira, Tokyo, at around 9:25 p.m. on June 22, 2017. He was hiding in the bathroom. When the victim returned home, Uoka covered her mouth and attempted to rape her. However, she broke free and screamed and Uoka fled.

At the time, Uoka and the victim were working at the same Skylark restaurant. The victim worked part-time while Uoka did mainly deliveries

Uoka was first arrested in March on suspicion of raping a woman in her 20s after breaking into her apartment Kunitachi City, Tokyo, on Feb 15. He was subsequently identified through street surveillance camera footage taken outside the apartment building.

His involvement in the Kodaira case came to light after his DNA matched traces found at the scene of the crime.

Police said Uoka has admitted to attempting to rape his former Skylark colleague and quoted him as saying “I thought she was cute.”

Give him a good sentence and slap a tag on his ankle.

He is a menace to society! Thought she was cute??? 98% of people would then be nicer to her now wouldn’t they you scum

A serial B & E rapist. This creep would be looking at a decade in the pen for each offense where I come from. Hopefully, the J-courts dish out a similar sentence.

"I thought she was cute" is not an sufficient enough reason to sexually assault anyone. There are lots of very attractive women around the world but that is not an invitation nor one of control/power but pure lust. Lust is the problem with this guy. A brain adjustment ought to do the trick and a couple of years hard labor in prison.

What a disgusting "person". Jeez, if you like someone, just ask them out. You win some, lose some. That's how the game is played. Hope he has a hard time inside. Hope the young lady is OK.

Oh ok. That explains it then....WTF??

Overly tolerant attitudes about male sexual aggression, both from people at the very top and throughout the wider society, ensure that’s a highly unlikely prospect.

Good on the Japanese cops for linking the two cases together and getting this scum off the streets.

I only hope those two women get all the help they may require.

Random:

Once he’s locked up, perhaps some of the fellow inmates will find him cute.

From what I hear, Japanese prisons are run by the authorities, not by the inmates.

rgcivilian1: ""I thought she was cute" is not an sufficient enough reason to sexually assault anyone."

Ummm... don't think there is sufficient reason at all, and hence it's called 'assault'. But yes, it is among reasons given more pathetic than usual.

Reckless: "Castration!"

No. Nothing warrants physical mutilation. Chemical castration, yes. But let that be part of his parole after a good stint in prison. Hope his victims find a little peace in him being caught.

Oh gee, that makes it OK then? Anyway, for once something else than the traditional "I was drunk"

"I thought she was cute"

Many people look at the opposite sex and THINK many things...good things or bad things....which is for the most part acceptable. But when you take it a step further like this guy (stalking, planning, hiding & acting), this sets you apart from the rest of us and instantly able you as a criminal. I also look at women and think "Dang! That bird is FIRE! I'd give her a proper so and so!" but its just in my head or amongst my mates and leave it at that. What gives this guy the stones to do this to an innocent woman? I hope she recovers from this and he gets what he deserves!
