A 20-year-old man robbed a convenience store in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, and then asked the store employee to call police to come and get him.
According to police, the suspect, Tomoya Takahashi, entered the Lawson store at the west exit of Tsujido Station at around 9 a.m. Saturday. Sankei Shimbun reported that he threatened the cashier with a knife and demanded money. After receiving 49,000 yen from the cash register, Takahashi stayed in the store and asked the cashier to call the police.
Nobody was injured in the incident, police said, adding that Takahashi has so far declined to give a reason why he wanted to be caught.© Japan Today
