A man robbed a gasoline station of 1.25 million yen in Yawata, Kyoto Prefecture, on Tuesday morning.

Police said the man threatened two part-time employees with a knife just as they were closing up at around 2:10 a.m., local media reported. He ordered them back into the office and told them to open the safe.

After binding the employees’ hands and legs with adhesive tape, the man fled with the money in a bag. The employees were not injured.

The robber is described as being in his 30s, about 170 cms tall, was wearing gray clothes and blue motorcycle helmet.
