A man robbed a post office of one million yen in Tokyo’s Ota Ward on Thursday after threatening to set fire to gasoline and kill everyone in the place.
According to police, the man, who was wearing a black cap and black jacket, entered the Omori Higashi-Nishi post office at around 2 p.m., Fuji TV reported. Police said the man handed a note to one of the women employees. The note said: “I have gasoline and a knife. If you make a noise or call out, I will ignite the gasoline and everyone here will be killed. Give me one million yen.”
Without saying a word, the man then left the post office with the money in a bag. None of the 10 staff and customers in the post office were injured.
Police said they are examining surveillance camera footage to try and identify the man.© Japan Today
