A man on Sunday night assaulted a convenience store clerk in Sakura City, Chiba Prefecture, police said Monday.
According to police, the man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s and about 180 cms tall, assaulted the clerk with a knife at around 5 a.m. on Monday. The suspect fled soon after stealing about 160,000 yen from the cash register.
Police have released an image of the suspect taken from security cameras in the store and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
