Police said Friday that a man robbed a video rental store in suburban Tokyo's Hoya district on Thursday by threatening the store owner with a firework.
According to Sankei Shimbun, the man entered the store at around 8 p.m. and lit a handheld firework, which he held in one hand while brandishing a knife in the other. He then demanded the 58-year-old store owner hand over cash from the register. Police said the store owner handed over a 5,000 yen bill, which the man took before leaving the store taking the firework with him.
The man is described as being around 160 cm in height, wearing a white surgical mask and a gray parka jacket with the hood up.© Japan Today
