Man seen taking money out of murdered Chiba Univ student's bank account

Police on Friday reported a new development in the case of Yukari Ogino, a fourth year student at Chiba University, who was found dead in her Matsudo City apartment on Oct 22. The day before her body was discovered after two of her friends reported that her apartment was on fire, a security camera captured a man taking money out of Ogino's bank account at an ATM.

Ogino had spent the night at a friend's house on Oct 20, but was then not heard from again. Police say Ogino's wallet with cash inside was found untouched in the apartment, but her cash card was missing. Police are currently searching for the man in the video for questioning.

Sounds to me like the suspect knew the victim and probably already had access to the account.

If they caught his face on camera, wouldn't it be helpful to include the picture rather than just including this tidbit of information, making it easier for this guy to escape.

Moderator: The police have not released the video footage yet.

Regarding the PIN--once, a guy told me his wallet was stolen and the thief used his cash card. How? His PIN was his birthday. The thief had his ID with his birthday on it.

Maybe she had it written somewhere. Maybe it was tortured out of her. Or maybe it was a really obvious number that a thief could easily figure out.

Assaulted her, probably Raped her (as she was naked according to the keystones) killed her and set her home on fire...on top of that he went and stole her money...what a scumbag!!! DAMN!

Why so late reporting this crime? Cops should be engaged with some overtime to catch this monster. Sure there is a matter about PIN number. It would be big help to public if JT could publish some photos from time to time at least.

How about a picture? Yeah, they should be posting it with the article! Af course, the highly trained efficient Japanese police may take forever to get it out to the public.

How did the man at the ATM get the pin number for the cash card? I bet she had it written down in her wallet....

A little naive aren't we? Have you never heard of "enhanced interrogation" techniques? Anybody who was willing to kill this girl and then try a bit of arson afterward in order to destroy any evidence is probably more than capable of a little bit of torture. Let's face it,if such activities were horrific enough, nine out of ten people would also divulge personal information.

Anyway, I hope they get a name to the video footage ASAP. Then all they have to do is get the chap down the cells for a bit of a chat.
