Police have arrested an unemployed 43-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he shoved his 55-year-old girlfriend into the sea at Yamashita Park in Yokohama's waterfront area.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 11 a.m. on Monday. Fuji TV quoted police as saying that the suspect, Yasuo Seki, got into an argument with his girlfriend and then pushed her into the sea.
The woman was rescued by a passerby who threw her a rope and was unharmed, harbor police said. Seki has admitted to the charge and said he pushed the woman into the sea with the intention of killing her.© Japan Today
