A female junior high school student sustained wounds after a man slashed her back with a knife as she walked home in Chitose, Hokkaido.

According to police, the incident occurred air around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sankei Shimbun reported. The girl told police she was walking along a street when a man on a bicycle bumped into her from behind. He then pulled out a knife and slashed her back, and then rode away.

Police said the girl suffered a minor wound and added they are examining street surveillance camera footage to try and identify the attacker.

On Wednesday, staff at a nearby elementary and junior high school urged students to be vigilant and travel to and from school in groups if possible.

@noone I dont think its the same guy TBH with you, as the two towns are about 1800 Km apart, and its a 26-27 hours driving just in a car, so cycling will take? days if not months to cycle that distance.

why on earth would any sane person do this? fetish? bizarre intrest? just a nut job? poor girl, I hope she gets some help on this and I hope the J cops find this nut job PDQ

Willing to bet it’s some kind of mental illness. We hear all the time about people who do insane things ‘because they wanted to know what it would be like’. That’s a pathological issue of impulse control.

Every person, even normal ones, have weird thoughts. Those are ‘intrusive thoughts’. It’s like, for example, you’re at a grocery store and you pick up a cantaloupe and a part of your brain goes “Drop-kick the cantaloupe. Do it. It’ll make a cool sound”. And then we go “No, that’s bad and stupid” and then we don’t kick the cantaloupe.

Now imagine someone whose intrusive thoughts are a LOT worse and they’re so mentally messed up, they don’t get the “That’s bad and stupid” part.

That kind of mental illness can be VERY dangerous, especially if the person isn’t lucid enough to recognize something is wrong.

All in all, this guy’s clearly not all together upstairs and needs to be found and put away before he can hurt anyone else.

This idiotic moron needs to be found and thrown in a cell ASAP. Maybe some mental therapy will be of some benefit but most likely not.

Evil. Degenerate are not the only things that comes to mind when any grown man attacks a little girl like this.

But you just gotta make excuses... I wonder why?

Mentally ill is the only thing that comes to mind when any grown man attacks a little girl like this.

@Mark

10pm???

> Am I reading this wrong? was she walking alone at 10pm?

You are giving the girl the blame because she walked alone @10pm. There is no excuse for attacking someone.

On topic.

I wonde what his excuse will be.

" I wanted to kill someone, I felt stressed because of, I wanted to feel"

Similar attack happened to someone I know but she was much older, and during daytime. She actually knocked down the attacker with her hand bag then beat him up with her high heels, and she got plenty of help from others.

Similar incident happened last year in Okayama. A man on bicycle slashed women using knife and then cycled away. Since it happened in my neighborhood, I was checking on updates from police if he was found. But there was no reports saying that he was found. Maybe that’s him, who knows. Hope they find him asap.

attacking those who can't defend themselves

Most of them surely can to a certain degree, you’ll be astonished what Japanese school girls are capable of, judo, kendo, karate or they give you quite a one with a tennis racket , softball bat or foul you like a red card soccer player etc. lol But in cases like this it’s rather difficult for everyone, also strong adults, if someone cowardly attacks from behind massively slashing the back.

I don't know what would make a guy do such a senseless act on someone that is no harm to them. This world is not safe nowhere.

Maybe Japan should take lessons from Mainland China and Taiwan to inquire how such countries protect their citizens from these kinds of attacks.?

It’s always an old man and always a young girl. Sort yourself out japan

Nowhere in the article does it say whether the man was young or old. Sort yourself out.

I can remember several cases similar to this in Japan where the wound turns out to be self inflicted. Not saying this is what happened here but will be following the story.

Why doesn’t this read: “ *ManHUNT underway for jr.high school girl’s slasher in Hokkaido***” **?

I'm so used to reading "man flashes junior high school girl" in Japan that I had to do a double take on the headline.

Feed an automated drone with the surveillance video footage and let it fly over the area, and when the wild knife-wielding beast shows up again sniper it down. Finally for something that makes sense all that AI must be good.

These cowards and scum almost always target girls. I hope the poor girl recovers physically and mentally. She may never.

Catch him and lock the animal up. Forever.

You can't use the I was drunk and couldn't remember or the I wanted to experience what it feels like to...excuses in things like these. Have this man arrested before he ends up killing someone. I wonder if the police would recruit volunteers with sasumata to apprehend this guy, I'd volunteer.
