A man in his 60s was stabbed at Shinjuku Station on Friday night, police said.

According to police, the attack occurred at around 11 p.m. on a walkway in the station. TV Asahi reported that police received a call from a station attendant who notified them that a man had been stabbed as he was walking along a passageway toward the Keio line.

Police said the victim sustained stab wounds to his thigh and other parts of his body. He was quoted by police as saying he didn't see who stabbed him because there were a lot of people on the walkway at the time.

Lot of security cameras around there, perhaps they got footage of the perp.

The increased police presence in stations doesn't seem to have helped, at least in this case.

Nor would it. Crazy people aren't normally particularly bothered by being caught, it probably adds to the challenge. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a net forum somewhere where people tally up their clothes cuttings etc.

My goodness he sustained multiple stab wounds and he still didn't see the person?
