Police on Friday arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed the manager of a convenience store in Higashi-Osaka.
According to police, the suspect -- identified as Taisei Ishii -- came into the Circle K Sunkus store at about 10:15 a.m. Witnesses say he brought a bento to the counter and then heard him say to the 27-year-old manager, "Guys like you should die," TBS reported. He then allegedly stabbed the manager with a cutter knife and fled on a bicycle, but was apprehended a short time later by police.
During questioning, Ishii was quoted by police as saying the store manager tried to stab him, TBS reported.

Seems like a 27 year man old behind a counter should be able to dodge a 54 year old with a knife. He even had the "guys like you should die" warning.

Guys like you should die eh.. after 15 yrs here I think a lot of guys think that about me just for being groomed and dressed proper. Love the oyajis who grunt noises when I walk by them, or fart/burp on purpose in front of me and growl. Classic. Go to the crappiest part of your town/ward here with a nice suit on, smile, a pretty girl and watch how many guys wanna secretly want to kill you at the conbini, bar, the street... 20-80 age male applies. I use the "How you doing line?"... classic.
