A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after he threw a bicycle from from a second floor parking area and it hit a 51-year-old woman walking below.
According to police, Mineo Kato threw the bike from the parking area in Totsuka, Yokohama, just before 7 p.m. last Friday night, Fuji TV reported. The woman walking below suffered injuries to her head and neck.
Police said Kato has admitted to the crime and quoted him as saying he was irritated at the way the bicycle next to his was parked, so he picked it up and tossed it below .
After the incident, Yokohama City began installing safety nets below such facilities to prevent falls.

didn't this exact same thing happen just a little while ago? Remember, reckless disregard resulting in injury can be charged as attempted murder in some places

Oh my goodness! You've GOT to me kidding me! Is this how they deal with the problem? By putting up nets to prevent the bikes from hitting other people? Call me crazy, but doesn't that send a message to other people that "It is ok to throw bikes from buildings" thus encouraging other big babies like the mouth-breathing bell-end in this article? Here's my 0.02円 on this situation...Why not install proper bike stalls with enough space for only one bike thus eliminating parking problems? I'm just saying.
