People paid alot of yen to dine on the cooks penis and balls and he had no sexual transmitted diseases. Only because there is no law against cannibalism in Japan. There should be a required mental examination for the next idiot that want to copy this financial windfall. Is it legal in Japan to sell your own organs cooked or not?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

now im hungry

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The prosecution wanted him to COME clean but I guess he didn't have the BALLS to.

I can go all day....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

ugh..they ate that... i feel like throwing up...

1 ( +1 / -0 )

there would hardly been enough for one guest let alone 71, for 20,000yen I would of demanded he cut off a bit of thigh and cooked that, after all cannibalism isnt a crime here. yummmy

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@ Mikune , Japanese may have many strong traits but "common sence" unfortunately is not one id put high on the list.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Why would there be a law here against Cannibalism? Its common sence that it is not allowed. And people have common sence here.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

I'm thinking he didn't completely severed his member. He probably just cut a few rings of 4skin kind of like those fried calmari rings.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wonder if that guy knows that it aint gonna grow back?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

4 x 2.5 million yen: Now that's a fundraiser! Book 'em Danno!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

damn 20,000yen/each, not that id donate my organs for people to chow down on, but id have to get at least 80,000yen per person, if they could finish it all. LOL

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

allegation of indecent exposure ? like lol, the guy did it of his own free will, right, that's one ... Two, that sounds like some claim only the law of overhere would make. If someone wants to cut of their own balls and serve them to some other hentai, i dont see why not until they start shoving it in someone elses face. The more retards kill themselves the less you have to reckon with. This gonna be offtopic, right ?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

ONLY IN JAPAN !!!!!!!!!! SILENCE OF THE LAMBS japan edition

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Aries, lol, fair enough. But still cannibalism includes death, to me.

WilliB, there are way more, you are not including all the ppl who were busy at work, couldn't afford 20,000y, or found it was already sold out.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Brace yourselves for copycats! It's the Japanese way!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I join those who think the outrage here is not the freak, but the participants in his dinner. To think that there are 71 people in this town who actually paid to eat that.... eek!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Is it even cannibalism if the person being eaten isn't dead? I've licked my own blood and chomped off bits of dead skin, fingernails, not to mention my own tongue.

I think you're ok with the cannibalism so far, just don't progress to others blood, fingernails or tongues and you will know you've definately crossed the line if you are dining on the chefs nuts.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Is it even cannibalism if the person being eaten isn't dead? I've licked my own blood and chomped off bits of dead skin, fingernails, not to mention my own tongue.

Does that make me cannibalistic???

Cannibalism is gross to us "moderns", but it is really something that's been a part of all of our forebears' lives for ages. Notably, and recently, the Uruguayan rugby team whose plane crashed in the high Andes in the 70s had to eat their fallen comrades to remain alive, the Donner (sp?) party in the American West in the 1800s was stranded in snow in the winter in similarly hi mts in the Rockies and had to eat their dead fellows. In really countless other cases of marooned sailors, and on and on, it is a natural part of last-ditch survival (not to mention all the eating-your-enemies'-remains that goes on in war-even today), even if something you'd rather avoid.

Thus I am not sure Japan should have a law against cannabalism, laws against murder and mutilation of a corpse and inappropriate disposal of a corpse are surely enough to discourage/ prosecute ppl who are killing for pleasure or psychopaths who want to hunt and eat other ppl.

This guy wants attention for his cause, he got it, good or not I don't know, but let the cannibalism go. Indecent exposure is enough. (He made out getting something like 14,000us$ for serving one set of genitals to 70 ppl!? condiments indeed).

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

At least he didn't slice up another person's genitals

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So how was it served? Raw or grilled, yakitori-style?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That's such a highway robbery! Ladies are already used to eating it, much less pay 20,000 for it. Heck, usually it's the other way around!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Two cannibals are sitting around eating clowns when one turns to the other and says, "This one taste funny to you?"

I loved it when I was 12 and it still makes me chuckle!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

At ¥20,000 a head, I would assume they were real KinTama.

What is wrong with these people?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

For 20,000 yen, you'd think it would at least have been fresh.

I can't believe it was that cheap. Honestly. It is a first as far as I know, so I would have imagined a far, far higher price per portion - more like 200,000. I still can't get my head round how easy it was to find people who would gladly pay to feat on human 'bits'.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

They were kept frozen for two months

For 20,000, you'd think it would at least have been freshly cooked.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

there is no law against cannibalism in Japan

Or in this case, canniballism.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If the genitals were surgically removed he no longer physically possessed them for it to be indecent exposure, right? They want to pinch him for that all the while men can read their news with topless women shown?

I hv no problem with what the guy did with his own bits. Why anyone would want to 1) separate such a gift from themselves and 2) consume such things is beyond me. The fact that people felt uncomfortable with this after the fact is so sad. Things like this happen underground all the time and in some form in different cultures. Placenta consumption anyone. What saddens me is that people felt uncomfortable about this yet so many beautiful children are being starved, suffocated or beaten and there is barely a word or complaint from the Japanese populous. Sad.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

He didn't serve 71 people. Just 4. 71 watched. This is hypocrisy on a grand scale. way more indecent exposure and behaviour in Roppongi on a Friday night than this ever was.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Jesus, Elvensilvan, you actually googled the pictures?

Don't do it! Seriously. I just did and I nearly honked up over the computer.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@Maria

No, I didn't need google it up, there were links posted by some posters when the story first went out.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Surely the defence will challange the prosecutor to show the evidence (which has now been destroyed).

Can't really understand why the guy did this but you have to hand it to him, you gotta have balls to do this.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

There is no law in cannibalism in Japan, hahaha pathetic!!!! Are you ready for changes law makers????Or are you guys still gonna think about it?????LOL!!!!!This is comedy!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I'll never understand why conservative thinkers never cease to make it their life's mission to eradicate any behaviour, no matter how trivial, that takes place between consenting adults and violates nobody's rights. It's like a bunch of sad little people who can't sleep at night knowing somebody is doing something they don't like. These same people make prostitution illegal and thereby marginalize the women, burden the justice system, and flood the prison system. Or the same thing with drugs.

They'll never get a good night's sleep until they have Orwellian screens in your apartment, and even then they'll just lose sleep watching you. Can't we just have the freedom we were born with? This is not part of the social contract.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

@millerlee

You're showing way too much interest in the intimate details! :)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Perhaps we can make a deal with China and Korea; we keep this guy locked up and away from Senkaku/Takeshima, and they shut up about "their" islands. Everyone goes away happy!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There will be no court case; the evidence will not STAND UP in court. The Prosecutor will have a BALL with this one. It may be hard to tell HEADS from TAILS. Can the jury put all the PIECES together? In the end, the accused will just pass all the evidence.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Photos? So what we have are Mountain Oysters with Sausage.... Bathed in a light creme sauce...I wonder if they made a leather coin purse out of the sac like they do with rocky mountain oysters...did they serve the sausage inflated or in its deflated state? Was it fried, sauteed, broiled or baked? Put on a stick as a pronto pup?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Why do you care what a bunch of willing participants do if all legal channels are followed?

Because he's (it's) an attention-whore.

And why would you ask for jail time for this person?

Because cannibalism is abhorrent.

Because he offended your delicate sensibilities?

I don't have "delicate sensibilities". I'm a 250lb hockey player who plays enforcer.

Seems rather a waste of resources and a tad barbaric, don't you think?

So is chopping off your cock and balls and selling it to people to eat.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

In an email to AFP in May, he confirmed the event had taken place and said it was organized to raise awareness about “sexual minorities, x-gender, asexual people.”

Yes, I'm sure thousands of people have changed their minds about them as being sick freaks of nature.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Jesus, Elvensilvan, you actually googled the pictures?

...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

to raise awareness about “sexual minorities, x-gender, asexual people.”

And now, he's an "ex-man".

@Maria

I would imagine the cooked product looked very little like his original cock'n'balls.

Actually, if you saw the pictures released, the cut up pieces still do resemble the real thing ... and still has hair attached.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Meh. English people have been eating cans of "Spotted Dick" for years.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

basically if a relative dies "of natural causes" and you chow down on some body parts, as long as you reported the death then theoretically you couldnt be arrested because "cannibalism isnt a crime in Japan" WTF!?

wtfjapan, you will be arrested becuase if this was part of a dead body, there is a law forbiding the "Destruction of Corpses". This crazy feast was all possible because this was a part off a living man.... yuck....

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Probie

Why do you care what a bunch of willing participants do if all legal channels are followed? And why would you ask for jail time for this person? Because he offended your delicate sensibilities? Seems rather a waste of resources and a tad barbaric, don't you think?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Can't believe that guy was able to feed 71 people with his genitals. Even I could only feed 50 or 60!

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Man who cooked, served his own genitals sent to prosecutors

I don't think he's a man anymore!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

' Many residents of Suginami and elsewhere have expressed a sense of discomfort and feeling of apprehension over this,” Mayor Ryo Tanaka said in a statement.'

You have to admire the Japanese talent for pointed understatement......

2 ( +2 / -0 )

a crime known as the display of obscene objects in Japanese

While the entire this is gross... they can have a giant penis festival where they carry massive "objects" down the street and have a party but 5 people see some medical waste and the guy goes to jail?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

there is no law against cannibalism in Japan.

But there are definitely laws covering food sanitation (such as requiring health inspections at meat packing plants and restaurants) and one or more of those could have probably been invoked. It may have violated some commercial law as well. If the government choses to go after this guy, they can get him for all sorts of violations.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The creep calls himself an "illustrator", but his work is garbage.

He obviously wanted his 15 minutes of fame, and he got it; I hope he gets his 6 months in jail next.

I don't know which is more pathetic: the freak "illustrator" or; the pretentious dimwits who paid to eat the angry inch.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

this is weener discrimination!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Don't get what the fuss is. They are clearly grabbing at straws to put ANYTHING on this guy. If he littered in a park they would try and pin him for it. It's so transparent it's pointless. Yeah, we get, people don't like the idea of a guy chopping his junk off and letting others eat it. Did he do anything wrong, no. Is it completely messed up that he did do it? Yes. Now move on.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Can't believe they're getting the shaft.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

basically if a relative dies "of natural causes" and you chow down on some body parts, as long as you reported the death then theoretically you couldnt be arrested because "cannibalism isnt a crime in Japan" WTF!?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

I never heard of such a strange case... I wonder if this person has mother issues?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

DAMN! and I was really hoping chow down on some sausage and spuds.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Fail to understand why JT (and AFP for that matter) remains attached to this incident. Not the type of headline I would prefer to wake up reading just before breakfast. Undoubtedly sick, distasteful and immoral for most. but nonetheless not really illegal either, thus wondering where the point lies.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

71 guests, and he is Japanese, It was more like a condiment.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

While this case is bizarre, it's a bit like closing the barn door after the horses got out.

I believe that they really need to define exactly what it was that bothered them about the incident and make an appropriate law to avoid a repeat.

I find the authorities actions hypocritical as they had plenty of opportunity to stop what this man was doing but no one cared until members of the public complained.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Apparently some of the members of the public complained to the authorities...that the portion was, ahem, disappointingly small.

How about just throwing him in the nut-house instead?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Seriously... they're going to push to punish this guy for anything. Indecent exposure?? Just walk down the street and you can see some ojisan urinating in public, but I don't see the cops rushing to get them.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Typical. They are trying to enforce morality on a group of willing participants and will try to reverse engineer a law that has been broken.

I don't know why they don't just make a law from here on out or just let people live. Nobody was coerced or harmed by anybody else. Gov'ts are never happy until they have dominion over everything, including our private lives.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

He must have been well-hung to serve 71 guests.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

I hope there was a notice: "May contain nuts", otherwise they might face more litigation...

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

I hope there was also a warning that the food "may contain nuts", otherwise they could be facing more litigation...

9 ( +11 / -2 )

It's an obvious lesson really. Serving your meat and two veg in a public place is indecent exposure.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

A rubbish charge - I would imagine the cooked product looked very little like his original cock'n'balls. They probably think they ought to charge him with something, to stop others doing the same kind of thing - hold back the rush!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

"cooked, served his own genitals sent to prosecutors."

Big mistake. Never should have sent them to the prosecutors.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

LOL that is some funny nasty stuff!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Sorry but that is some real disturbing bunk.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

You are what you eat?!

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Are humans like bears? Once they get a taste for human flesh they crave it?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

This won't hold up in court...although disgusting, he committed no crime

2 ( +3 / -1 )

What really disturbs me is he found 71 people willing to pay 20,000 each to eat them.

"Would you like the Kobe beef steak or human penis?"

" Oh, human penis please!"

16 ( +16 / -1 )

Everyone behind this ridiculous prosecution should be up on charges of abuse of authority.

It cannot be indecent exposure if people chose of their own free will to view and eat the genitals!

Japan needs to make an anti-cannibalism law. That is all the authorities reasonably have to work with. Let these people go.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

They want to prosecute for whatever reason. 'Indecent exposure'? This is Japan... What indecent exposure?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Hahaha... indecent exposure!! That's all they could come up with for this fruitcake?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

am I allowed to re-post this mind boggling point:

"there is no law against cannibalism in Japan."
