Man, wife found dead in apparent murder-suicide

The bodies of a man and his wife were found in their home in Tokyo’s Katsushika Ward on Thursday night, in what police believe may have been a murder-suicide.

According to police, the bodies of the couple, both in their 40s, were found by the man’s brother in their Shin-Kiowa apartment at around 8 p.m., Fuji TV reported.

Police said the woman was lying on top of a mattress in the living room and that she had been strangled by a thin cord. Her husband’s body was found in the bedroom, where he had apparently hanged himself from a bed bunk railing.
