A man on Wednesday night attacked a 13-year-old school girl with scissors on the street in Nagoya. The girl was not injured, police said Thursday.

According to police, the man approached the girl at 6:10 p.m. and told her he was lost. Then he suddenly assaulted her with scissors and cut her cardigan. She reported the case to her mother who later called police.

The girl told police the suspect is in his 20s or 30s with short hair and wore black sunglasses and a black jacket.

I say he's a net cafe user, has a part time job, but went to a respectable college, likes RPG games and would prefer an older woman as a mate!

Another freak off his leash! This stuff is truly scary! I am getting paranoid of being on a packed train and having some loon pull out a box cutter and start going to town on everyone.

Please don't write things like that. It may give them ideas.

Chill Disillusioned,

The chances of being offed by a psycho with a box cutter is probably substantially less than dying of cancer from the air you breath, or the chemicals in the air and water. Relax!

Maybe the cops can make this guy the killer of the girl in Kyoto, since the other one fell through

What is up with the attacks on teen girls? What the heck did they do to anybody?

Let's ban scissors and the problem will go "away".

so many crazy dudes in Japan. what is happening to this country. aging society, killing each other, I am pretty sure they will and this is really soon that Japan should open its door to foreign workers...but Japan is afraid of foreigners, because some of them thinks that gaijins are bad...as they call us, Hen na Gaijin

school girls should be equipped with mace. I wonder how many of these types of crimes go unreported or undocumented.

Or, she damaged her cardigan herself, and made up the story so her parents wouldn't yell at her.

Wasn't such attack reported a while back? He was wearing sunglasses at 6:10PM? She doesn't remember much doesn't she. For future criminals this article will give them a good idea how to get away with crime. Black jacket is for 'BANDIDOS.'

Teach all kids at school effective self defence techniques.

Too bad she didn't have a gun to defend herself.

I don't know the girl said lie or this is true. But surely she is little bit doubtful. well it is good for her that she wasn't injury anyway. If this is true, she felt really scary. I hope she is not trauma of this happend. There are many bad news. Why so many case happend everyday... There are many unusual people in Japan.

I agree. It's good that she wasn't injured. While it may be possible that she's lying about this, there have been enough similar incidents over the past few years, or months even, to support her claim. I hope this event doesn't traumatize her too much.

She reported the case to her mother who later called police

what was she waiting for? A decision to believe her daughter? You'd think if a girl narrowly escape a scissors wielding wierdo, they'd call the cops right away. Maybe the mom was too chicken to confront the daughter so she was waiting to get up the nerve to call the cops even though she didn't believe it herself. And where is the dad in all this? Why doesn't the article read, "she told her parents who immediately called the police." You'd think if a dude attacked a 13 y/o the dad would be pretty steamed. If it is true, I hope she's not mentally traumatized and that they catch the creep.
