Aomori prefectural police have arrested a 47-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, with whom he lives, on suspicion of abusing her elementary school-aged son.

Police said Katsutoshi Takahashi, a farm worker, and the woman are accused of tying the hands and feet of the boy with rope at their home in the early hours of Monday, NTV reported.

The incident came to light at around 8:30 a.m. Monday when the boy freed himself, went outside and sought help from a neighbor.

Police said both the mother and her boyfriend have admitted to the allegation.

Police said the boy’s body had old and new bruises on it and suspect he was abused on a regular basis.

Brave kid, I hope this helps others in a similar situation reach out and find help.

Hope the lad gets over his abuse and finds the love that he deserves!

Asinine would be to insult other posters when it is specifically against the rules of the site.

There is nothing foolish or stupid about praising a child for seeking help against abuse, you may think he should just take the violence and be quiet but for rational, empathic people his actions represent bravery and can very well inspire other children that have not done the same even in need.

Good for the boy for escaping and finding help. I hope they find another place for him. Even a group home would be better, as he is clearly not safe at home.
