I went through facial recognition systems and fingerprinting for international flights to/from Japan. I don’t understand how Mr. Ghosn could go through Immigrations and Customs at the Osaka Airport, unless private plane passengers aren’t required to go through the security checks like us “normal” people. Does anybody know?

He didn't walk went in an oversized container so it wasn't scanned at customs and it just went straight to the private planes hanger with out any checks.

B. Jay - If the movie comes out I guess Japan will ban it from showing in its theatres. It won't be nice to Japan at all.

It's Hollyweird. They will move the storyline location to Sweden, or Russia, or Italy. Ghosn will look like Mark Wahlberg, and Ghosn's wife will look like Sofía Vergara. Tom Hanks will lead the financial investigation, and John Boyega will lead the physical chase.

I don't blame him. It's ridiculous to keep a man in jail for years without a fair trial just to squeeze some cash out of him. This is about money, not crime. If the board didn't like the job he was doing it was up to them to fire him.

Surely, Japan cannot escape from the truth. Rigged system in employees laws. The world must know what is going on in Japan.

Now that the escape is done, every one involved will come up with how he or she was forced, threatened, hoodwinked unknowingly. If further investigations are conducted, it will be shown that their bank accounts have been added to generously recently. I followed Ghosn's case quite sympathetically at first, now I'm not so sure about his innocence. Unfortunately the Japanese authority have been conned and in any country anywhere else, heads would roll. We are also now reminded that this is the Tokyo Olympic year. Even the decades-old Tsukiji fish market have been moved out to Toyosu to make way for this great event. An event of the Tokyo Olympic, the marathon, have been moved to Sapporo, for God's sake! Move this criminal out of Japan! Banzai! Meeting over...

I did it because they threatened me... Like in "If you don't do it we won't give you this $10,000"?

the best part of this whole saga is all the butt hurt and embarrassment, clearly outsmarted by someone they thought they had outsmarted. LOL

Hillclimber, maybe Hollywood can persuade Rowan Atkinson to play Mr Ghosn in your new movie?

And Abe hasnet said a word, which speaks volumes

As an interesting aside, it seems the only problem with Ghosn's escape is all the loudmouth boasting, as he and his team somehow think they can legitimize his escape. Whether he was actually innocent is kind of mute now because by jumping bail he has now become a criminal.

Surely having gained freedom he should have just quietly disappeared forever.

Did Ghosn swim too Kansai from Tokyo

Wow, they've caught some members of the orchestra and they've got them to sing.

But where does the ultimate responsibility lie?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Of course he paid to mafia-like people to escape, if you are a millionaire, wouldn't anyone do the same?

I am sure we will hear a few more interesting twists & turns about Ghosn's travels

It is understandable rich men make use of villains for something important.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Where is the proof?

9 ( +9 / -0 )

pretty sure Ghosn wasn't carrying enough cash or credit cards to pay upfront

Ghosn should have stayed in the musical instrument case he arrived to Istanbul in all the way to Beirut.

If you are rich enough you can hire practically anyone. And if the amount is right enough, they would be willing to go through any lenght to get the job done. Hope it was worth it for that company who took the job. Because they are now number one target now in Japan.

Seems like Ghosn hired some kind of mafia to help him escape.

Normally, one can't expect a troop of boy scouts to assist in matters such as international bail jumping.

Hurriyet said Kosemen told authorities that a former acquaintance from Beirut had asked him for assistance on what he called a matter of "international significance" and had told him that his family would be harmed if he refused.

Dont know if it's true or not, but sounds to me like a common excuse used in movies!
