Manager of adult entertainment shop arrested for kidnapping 16-year-old girl

A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl from Ibaraki Prefecture after luring her to Nagasaki City. The suspect, Kodai Uto, manages an adult entertainment shop in Nagasaki.

According to police, on April 24, Uto messaged the girl on a social networking service (SNS) and lured her to Nagasaki by claiming she could earn money by giving aroma massages, Sankei Shimbun reported. Uto came to Ibaraki and took the girl by car and plane from Ibaraki to his hometown in Kyushu.

The teenager immediately contacted her mother after she was forced to provide “sexual services” to clients at Uto’s adult entertainment shop. Police said she was not harmed. Uto was charged with kidnapping since the girl is a minor.

Police said Uto has admitted to the charge and are investigating to see if he lured other girls to work for him under similar circumstances.

If being forced into providing sexual services isn't harmful, I don't know what is.

A mother asked me to engage in online chat with her 15 yr old daughter to see how much data I could learn. She told me her age, full name, address, and when her parents were at work on which days. Parents need to do a better job of teaching children to share almost no information online.

Kids think they are safe on the other end of a computer. They are not.

The mother was shocked at how much I learned.

I haven't used my real name online since the 1990s. Had a stalker which changed everything about my internet use.

Where is the Parental Control in this situation ?? Don't the parents teach there children to use some common Sense or monitor the Social Media networks there children are using to avoid communicating with a sick piece of crap like Kodai Uto. The blame for this happening can go in many directions.

Why do I get the feeling that this isn't being taken as seriously as it should by the police and prosecutors?

I'm just thankful I don't have a daughter.

Ok... I'm all for personal responsibility and parental responsibility, but only one person is to blame here and in most cases and that's the perp. It's a bit like when someone gets molested or raped and people start talking about what the victim was wearing. It's not really relevant to the fact that a crime was committed. Blame lies solely with the offender.

You went on an extended trip with a guy you never met before? Not the sharpest crayon in the box are you? Thankfully you were smart enough to call your family when you realized what was up.

"Where is the Parental Control in this situation ??"

Why is victim blaming an accepted norm on this site?

What other possible outcome was she expecting to happen?

You seem to expect that a 16 year old Japanese girl has the same experience and awareness of the world as you do.

Yes, the guy in the shop is 98% at fault, but it isn't his fault alone.

No. He is 100% at fault. I understand what you are trying to say because I agree that people can do things to minimise risk but he is still 100% at fault.

How about focusing on grown men who want to force themselves on desparate 16 year old girls?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

how did this particular 16-year old cover that distance? in what amount of time? by what means? accompanied or unaccompanied? who paid her travel expenses? why did she knowingly go to work in a sex shop? so many questions.

Ummm... TLDR or something?

If you purely look at this from a legal point of view - she broke no law that I can think of. He did. He broke more laws than he is being investigated for.

If you look at it from a moral point of view - he took advantage of a young, vulnerable girl. Sure - there might be problems at home. If that's the case, she clearly needs help. What she doesn't need is to be coerced into doing sexual favors for someone else' financial gain and gratification.

Once again, I'm disgusted (but not surprised) that this guy is only on kidnapping charges.

Police said she was not harmed.

The police need to redefine their definition of "harm", because I think she plenty harmed.

Ummm... this does not reconcile in a humane society.

She WAS harmed. And I'm pretty sure there are a few more charges missing from this 'investigation'.

Let me guess the inner thoughts of the Police - 'She's lower socio-economic class, so she's not worth too much of a fuss - she probably wanted to do it for the money'.

The girl went to another prefecture, on her own, to make money from giving massages. What other possible outcome was she expecting to happen?

Oh yeah, right! She had it comin' to her eh. It's all her fault - not the sleeze that lured a vulnerable minor in.

Do society a favor. Go jump.

Of course she was harmed! 'Sexual services' - forced into doing tricks, that is harmful psychologically. She was forced to lose her virginity at so young an age and against her will. This could have emotional aftereffects - negative ones - on her future love life and emotional well being. In most of America it's called 'statutory rape'. She was enticed into this and she became a victim of a sick pervert's scheme.

Starpunk, read my comment again. Of course it's harmful.

oh come on....met online, aroma massages? what did she expect?

What the add forgot to mention happy ending?

Lure of the easy money

Remember it's still kidnapping even if she went willingly because he enticed her away and she's a minor

For future reference: 16 year olds can be very naive about the consequences of actions, and often make bad decisions. As hard as it is to believe, most people were much dumber at 16 than they are even as adults. But as we grow up we forget how stupid we were. That's why I recommend keeping diary from a young age.

I'm just saying that I agree with you 1000%. It's the police who said she 'wasn't harmed'. That's a load of crap.

Parents should be teaching their children the ways of the world as they age. I find it shocking that a 16 yr old girl has lived such a protected life as to fall for something like this.

She didn't just take a bus across town. Something is wrong at home or she is attracted to high-risk behavior.

Yes, the guy in the shop is 98% at fault, but it isn't his fault alone.

While the guy is definitely a scum and should be held responsible for soliciting a minor to prostitution, the girl also sounds like the type too eager to get money, even if it involves leaving her family without prior notice and moving all the way across the country to do 'massages'.

Unless shes mentally retarded she knew what was likely to happen.

And the moral of the story? There are no morals when man babies are concerned.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

how far is ibaraki from nagasaki? 9.5 hours  by train. 16 hours by car. 10.5 days on foot.

The air travel (bird fly) shortest distance between Nagasaki and Ibaraki is 1,048 km= 651 miles.

If you travel with an airplane (which has average speed of 560 miles) from Nagasaki to Ibaraki, It takes 1.16 hours to arrive.

how did this particular 16-year old cover that distance? in what amount of time? by what means? accompanied or unaccompanied? who paid her travel expenses? why did she knowingly go to work in a sex shop? so many questions.
