Maritime Self-Defense Force lieutenant arrested for groping 18-year-old girl on train

Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 45-year-old lieutenant in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces (JMSDF) for violating a public nuisance ordinance after he allegedly groped an 18-year-old high school girl on a train.

The incident occurred while the train was heading from Kanazawa-Hakkei Station to Yokosuka-Chuo Station on the Keihin line. Police said Hirokazu Komatsu is suspected of touching the girl’s upper body at around 2:35 p.m. on Dec 6, Sankei Shimbun reported. He was in the aisle seat and covered his arm with a jacket as he groped the girl beside him in the window seat.

The girl managed to grab Komatsu’s arm as he was leaving the train at Kitakurihama Station and called station attendants for help. Komatsu was handed over to police.

Police said Komatsu, who lives in Yokosuka, has admitted to the charge and are questioning him about whether he has committed similar offenses against other female commuters.

45-year-old lieutenant

I don't know how ranks work in the JSDF, but this doesn't seem normal.

I guess he couldn't "control his desire"? lol

Yet another case...

A disgrace to his uniform.

Hope the Maritime SDF are never dispatched overseas.

what? no "I was stressed from work" "I was drunk I can't remember"??

@ Alan Harrison the SDF is a defense force only. Also this "officer" should of kept big mouth shut!

Japanese news just seems to littered with lots of perverts molesting young children. God dam! I am sick of reading stories like these.

If he's Type A (Defense Academy or U-grad) he should indeed have been promoted long ago. But if he's a NCO advanced to officer (Type B or C) it just means he isn't the brightest in the tree.

And yet people don't ever want to sit next to me on the train/bus for fear I, as a foreigner, might do something like this or whatever they believe.

What a ashamed lieutenant ! I wonder about his next job after coming out of prison.

So where are all the "train surveillance video cameras" that have been installed in trains? Didn't they take video?

And get this guy's mug shots on the internet. Show everyone what trash looks like.

@Lamilly

OK, let’s change it to ‘an 18 year old high school adult’.

Good for her! If more people acted like she did, people like this pathetic "officer" would think twice before committing an act of cowardice like this! And, how can this pathetic excuse for a man hold the rank of lieutenant, as an officer and a leader when he can't even meet someone and have a relationship on equal terms?

I’m paranoid to even take a crowded train with a women pressed up to me like a sardine out of fear for she might mistakingly call me a Chikan. Tough times for men and this scumbag doesn’t make it any easier

Hehe.  I guess he felt tnat at least some of the country should be safe in his hands.

Best kept that way.

They are worried we might try to talk to them.

So much money will be saved with his next transfer, from Yokosuka base to the Yokosuka prison a short distance away!

It’s pretty normal in the Marine Corps to end your 20 as a Staff Sergeant (E-6). This guy probably took the OCS exam as an enlisted.

Yeah tough times for you, that you MIGHT be mistakenly accused; especially when ompared to women, some of whom are sexually assaulted on trains on a weekly basis. Yeah, poor you.

The moral of this story is the Maritime self defense officer has not defense he admitted guilt

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The only thing he couldn't resist was . . . temptation. A career shot and family embarrassed - - all for touching a breast. Gee dude, don't they teach risk management in the SDF?

True a disgrace to his uniform. But he hardly represents the entire JSDF. Militaries of other nations that have been dispatched overseas have done FAR FAR WORSE.
