Two men entered a supermarket in Aichi Prefecture on Sunday night and stole 8 to 9 million yen as well as the manager’s car, police said Monday.
Police said the two men, about 170–180 cm tall, were wearing black clothes and black balaclavas and entered the Toyokawa City supermarket through the employee’s entrance at about 9.20 p.m. The supermarket had just shut for the day and the 56-year-old manager was in the office counting the day’s takings, when the two men entered the office. Police said they threatened the manager with an iron pipe, saying they didn’t want to kill him.
They taped the manager’s wrists together and stuffed a bag with cash, believed to contain 8 to 9 million yen. The men then asked the manager for his car keys, and sped off in his vehicle which was parked outside the store.
The manager was able to free his hands about 20 minutes later, when he called police. He was not injured in the incident, police said.

The police should investigate the manager first. I bet its an inside job, hence the reason for the manager not getting belted with the iron bar to encourage him a little.

Well, they not only didn't want to kill him, they didn't want to injure him or tie him up too tightly! Nice robbers! That must have been a pretty soft iron pipe.

Wonder if the manager's office had security cameras? I would think that places of business where money is counted have cameras.
