Play on words.... you equipped your cars branded Mitsubishi with other engines that did!

Surely this is easy to test.

So, here is the scapegoat defense albeit, a vague one.

Mitsubishi Motors just doesn't have much credibility against these charges, and they have no one but themselves to blame. If they cheated on standard fuel economy for years, it's not much of a stretch to imagine that they would also cheat on diesel emissions as well. It's just very hard to take their statements at face value.

But the Tokyo-based firm did in 2016 admit to falsifying fuel-economy tests for 25 years to make the cars seem more efficient than they were.

Another day another scandal for this company. Wouldn't buy even a pencil from them.

Of course they are denying it. Are they going to openly admit it in the very beginning?

The reason my Japanese wife said she is not interested in ever buying a Mitsubishi vehicle is because "Mitsubishi is a pencil company" in her mind.

I believe them. I wish they would have done a better job qa testing their suppliers. Cheating customers is what all manufacturers do, I am though getting better fuel economy than advertised for my pickup so I'm happy.

I doubt they'd cheat emissions considering that Japan had to deal with high pollution before
