Police in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, said Friday that the bodies of more decapitated cats have been found in Nishi Ward.

According to police, elementary school students who were playing in Shiroyama Park on Tuesday found a cat's body abandoned at the base of a tree, Sankei Shimbun reported.

The bodies of several decapitated cats have been found three weeks in a row since July 10, within a one-kilometer radius in Nishi Ward. All the cats were three to six months old, police said, adding they believe the cats were killed somewhere else and their bodies abandoned in the neighborhood.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area and are analyzing street surveillance camera footage to try and identify the perpetrator.

There are times when I really would like to believe in karma. Karma in hopes that the poor kittys will one day get their just reward on this evil maniac. Better catch this guy, looks like he's ready to take it to the next level.

Preparation training ... get them soon and lock them before it is too late.

Yup, cruelty to animals often lead to heinous acts to people; hope the police can identify the sicko asap.

Murderers ... their dubious careers often start as children to kill or torture animals," said Robert K. Ressler, the profiles of serial killers created for the FBI.

I hope they find this psycho before he/she hurts somebody.

They "graduate" from killing cats to killing children.

A Murakami novel in real life.

Did yall know that this is a start of a psycho-socialpathic killer right?

I did. As this was the point made by nearly all of the preceeding posts on this thread, I could hardly be unaware.

I am sure somebody out there knows something. These cases always end up with somebody saying,"Remember how that kid used to tease and torture animals...?" etc. I just hope that person goes to tge authorities soon!

Sick. Hope that they find out who's doing this. Simply sickening.

Sad to say this but its one of the out comes of a emotionally repressed conformist society.

What does that say about the United States? There have been 2320 serial killers recorded in the US, 78 in Japan. Japan's population is half that of the US, roughly.

Poor kitties. I hope this sicko is caught soon. As others have said here there is plenty of support to show they move from animals to humans later on.

Himajin,

Who says the US isn't an emotionally repressed conformist society, too?

The illusion is slightly different, that's all.

This is why I believe the publishng of the memoirs book, by Jun Hase's killer to be a bad idea.

Or that he had killed a human being before got convicted and then released and just doing a lesser evil for the time being. No one knows until he gets caught. And I hope it will be soon!

Did yall know that this is a start of a psycho-socialpathic killer right? Serial killers always kill or experiment on animals (cats and dogs mainly) and some set fires. Kobe, Japan: stay alert for anyone who may seem too calm, or agitated. Which may be very obvious, but that's what I know. I read so many crime books and watch so many crime shows (CRIMMINAL MINDS is a very good one to learn how to profile murders of any kind and the unsub is practically has the MO of the killing.

Yeah, but do you read crime books and watch Criminal Minds? Everyone else was just giving opinions. This poster gave us official fact.
