Mother arrested for killing daughter wrote of child's death on blog

A 24-year-old woman arrested on Tuesday for murdering her 2-month old daughter had written about her daughter's death on her blog, it was learned Wednesday.

Asuka Takenaka, a housewife and resident of Sakai City, is accused of shaking her 2-month-old daughter Ayane violently on Jan 25, causing cerebral damage. Takenaka later wrote on her blog that Ayane "had returned to the heavens" and "Ayane-chan only lived for two months but she taught everyone a lot of important things. I go forward reflecting on the meaning of her life and what it gave us."

While Takenaka wrote of the struggles she was facing raising her baby, the blog also contained heart marks and other icons indicating her joy. In the column for likes and dislikes, Takenaka wrote that she loved her child's smile and people who gave their best, while she said her dislikes were her child crying and spending time alone.

I hope they steralise this women so she can NEVER have another child, and she gets the mental help she needs.

Unfortunately the 2 month Daughter paid the altimite price for this immature lady.

R.I.P such a sad case

Wow... this creeps me out. Sounds like it came straight from a psycho movie.

From that I have to doubt she killed her daughter, just doesn't compute. Did she confess?

Poor child. One poster blamed God for this, God create us with ability to choose good and evil. It is not God's fault. If He control us like puppets then there is no point to life. We have free will. We can decide what to do. This woman chose evil.

and what did the 2 year old choose? wrong mother, wrong time? No one is blaming God for this. I am saying, God was not there and lets put it another way..."if you are God, what option did you provide for both mother and child other than murder and death?".

God does not exist or not in the capacity that man made regions would have you believe.

"You are not serious? When the screaming toddler has you at wits end you just go lie down and take a nice refreshing nap? Obviously you have never been in the child rearing arena."

Assuming the obvious are we? Yeah. OBVIOUSLY.

Want to guess how many kids I have? And I am a real dad. I did night diapers and bottles because I am a swell guy. I got so good that I could identify the bottle cry and ignore it at a "certain" age. My wife got sleep. I got mine, naps too, and my kids got well-adjusted.

If you can't leave a 2 month old or a 2 year old crying for half an hour, you are a helicopter and your kid is on the way to becoming a parasite. Half an hour of a wet diaper or whatever is certainly...oh..no.. OBVIOUSLY... better than a half hour punch up.

Take the nap advice, people. It is a winner. If you can't do it, then hey, I guess I am better than you. Try harder and stop killing your kids.

but rather than making life altering decisions when people are depressed or tired, they should go take a nap. Just a nap. Even if all the conditions that exist before the nap are still there, the nap might change your outlook or make you at least reconsider what you are doing. This woman pretty obviously was functional, but spiralled out of control.

Reading this leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. There's just something wrong about writing about the death of a loved one, a death that she caused, on a blog to strangers. I suppose people deal with grief and guilt differently but if it were me, I doubt I would have the energy to get out of bed let alone type on my computer.

One thing is for sure...this woman needed help. Where was the father? Where were her friends? Heartbreaking...

Sir Gamble MY child SMILED the first time I held it in my arms and said hello, he was approximately 5 minutes out of the womb.He also continued to smile in his sleep from then on, so unless my child is super special babies can smile. of course I spent a lot of time making sure I laughed while he was in the womb so maybe it was a residual giggle. I feel for this poor baby and the mom too, normally I have no trace of empathy but my child went through a very colicky time where he would cry for hours and I remember thinking at one point - this is when parents wind up doing stupid things that hurt their babies. Luckily I was older and more equipped to handle it but until you've dealt with a constantly crying baby for weeks , and it seems she had no help , you can't know anything about the situation. Have you taken care of a child alone full-time? Just wondering..

No, sirgamble, an infant of that age can smile. I did. Evidently it's unusual (the nurses gave my mom a weird time about it) but not impossible.

I think post natal depression is invoked to let criminals like Takenaka escape jail. I think she deserves to go to jail. No other form of punishment is sutibale for her.

She loved the child's smile... but it was only 2 months old when she killed it... so was probably physically incapable of smiling.

Put her in gaol for a long time!

"This woman needs a lot of help"

She did and she will. For a long time. This might sound trite, very callous, but rather than making life altering decisions when people are depressed or tired, they should go take a nap. Just a nap. Even if all the conditions that exist before the nap are still there, the nap might change your outlook or make you at least reconsider what you are doing. This woman pretty obviously was functional, but spiralled out of control.

This woman needs a brain first. She looks at the issue only from her own perspective and doesnt have the ability to consider the issue from the child's perspective. You can call it a personality disorder but most probably her brain has just that much to think over.

May angels carry you to your rest Ayane-chan, and may God forgive you Mrs. Takenaka.

I agree with ebisen. The mother obviously loved her daughter but had no friends, family, or community to reach out to when things got really tough.

Anyone has a link to this? JT? It looks like a very strong case of post natal depression.

Alienation is hell. This is kind of proof that social networking sites do not satisfy the needs of people for interacting with the others even though it is better than nothing. We really do need each other, as much as the baby needed her mother, in a very real sense, and not just via cyberspace. I wonder where her family of orientation was? Father?

One thing the Japanese have right in their ethical history is the idea of mutual dependence. Even though giri could be a bit more of what we ought to do out of joy, rather than what we have to do out of obligation.

Another case that proves that not everyone should be allowed to have child. It must be regulated, necessary education must be given to all potential mothers. What is more imporatant than raising a healthy child? How can we allow just anyone to take on a hard job like being a mother (and father), without having the proper knowledge? I think it's very necessary.

Holly cow. I hope this is not true.. Really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
