Motorcyclist arrested for assaulting taxi driver

Police in Tokyo have arrested an unemployed 41-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting a taxi driver in his 50s.

According to police, the incident occurred last November in Ginza, Fuji TV reported.

Police said the suspect, Shun Sato, was riding his motorcycle on a street in Ginza, when the taxi driver changed lanes in front of his motorbike. Sato then began to zigzag in front of the taxi, causing it to stop. Sato got off his bike and punched the male driver in the face after an argument.

Police said Sato has denied the charge and quoted him as saying he doesn’t recall the confrontation.

I've seen terrible bikers and taxi drivers. This is a toss up.

As Ken Watanabe says, "Let them fight."

He's using the 'I don't remember' line.

He's admitting to drink driving, then.....?

I'm actually surprised incidents like this don't occur MORE often, given the narrow streets of many parts of Tokyo.

"he doesn’t recall the confrontation."

Aha. The same-old and familiar-sounding phrase. In any event, it's a good that the man has been arrested.

Correction: it's a good ( it's a good thing)

Ah yes! Welcome back, over-used excuse phrase! We missed you.
