Two members of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) have been arrested for allegedly committing lewd acts with a junior high school girl they met on the messaging app Line.
According to police, Tatsuya Ichikawa, 27, a navigator stationed at the JMSDF Yokosuka naval base, committed lewd acts with the girl, then 14, in Kanagawa Prefecture last Aug 17, Fuji TV reported. Despite being aware that the girl was a minor, Ichikawa allegedly performed indecent acts with her inside his car in the parking lot of a mall.
Police also said that a 27-year-old 3rd class petty officer committed a lewd act with the same girl at an apartment in Yokohama on June 3 last year.
Police said Ichikawa, who has admitted to the charge, created a Line group composed of 400 members of both genders; however, the majority of females were teenage girls and women in their 20s. On the other hand, the men were predominantly active and former members of the Self-Defense Forces, who are also the suspect’s acquaintances.© Japan Today
