Police in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture, have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 31-year-old man with stab wounds was found in the ruins of his apartment destroyed by fire.
Flames were seen coming from the second-floor apartment of Tsubasa Mine, a company employee, at around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, TV Shizuoka reported. Police said that an autopsy revealed Mine had been stabbed in the back several times.
Police said they are viewing street surveillance camera footage to try and determine who went in and out of the building prior to the fire starting.

I know this is frequently a measure of desperation of a murderer that had not planned to commit a crime, but judging form the latest examples in the media this only works to call attention to the crime, make more obvious the guilty party and complicate his situation because of how he endangered the lives of other people with the fire.

No one ever wants to wrap up something like this , when such a sick violent psycho is still out there and a potential repeater. Multiple stabbing from behind leading to immediate death followed by setting the whole scene on fire for making evidence to disappear, that’s surely not a simple supermarket or purse theft that might be silently ignored and swayed away because of workloads.

No doubt they wanted to wrap it up as suicide but the autopsy ruined it for them.

Pulled no punches, Today, with that headline: “*Murder investigation launched** after man’s body found in apartment destroyed by fire*” -
All thanks to the rational & logical decision for and conclusions from of an autopsy. - Needs to be done in more cases in Japan as opposed to the routine police sign-off of: “Accident”, “Suicide”, “Unknown” based on their ‘prima facia’ alone.
