A 46-year-old man wanted for the murder of a 47-year-old woman in Gifu Prefecture was arrested in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, on Tuesday night, police said Wednesday. Toshio Fukuchi, 46, was arrested for allegedly strangling his girlfriend Sachiko Yamamoto, 47, at her house in Kakamigahara City on June 28.

Fukuchi had been wanted by police since fleeing in the victim's car. According to police, the victim's car was found in Obama City around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Police tracked him to the mayor's house where he was found lurking in a garage. Fukuchi got away and jumped off a pier into the sea before being picked up.

Fukuchi admits killing his girlfriend after an argument over breaking up, police said.

First it says she was 47, then 46. Not only did he kill her, but he also made her one year younger?
