One man was killed and another injured in Nagoya early Wednesday morning, following what an eyewitness described as a street brawl, police said.
Police said they received an emergency call at around 12:40 a.m. in which the caller said four or five men were fighting with what looked like replica wooden swords in the street in Naka Ward. When police arrived at the scene, they found one man lying unconscious and bleeding and another man bleeding from the head.
Both men were taken to hospital where the first man was found to have sustained serious injuries but is in a stable condition. The second man died due to loss of blood about 90 minutes after arrival at hospital.
The deceased man was aged between 25 and 30 years of age and had sustained stab wounds to his head consistent with a knife attack, according to police. Police have not yet released the names of the two men and are currently searching for the others who they believe were involved in the fracas.© Compiled from news reports
