Police in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, said Thursday that the naked body of a boy found floating in the Tama River earlier this month, is that of a boy who has been missing from his home in Yokohama.
According to police, the boy's mother made the identification of the body which was found floating face-up and completely nude, at around 5:30 p.m. on Dec 2, Fuji TV reported. Police said an autopsy revealed the cause of death as drowning. There were no external signs of injury on the body.
Police said the boy belonged to a gang and believe he may have had some trouble with other members of the group. The boy's mother reported him missing to police at around 8 p.m. on the night his body was found. Police said the woman told them she hadn't seen her son since late November.

Yeah. Unfortunately, that'd do it.

Not to belabour the point or anything, eh.
That poor boy must have suffered and been so afraid, it is a terrible story.
His mother must have feared it was him, when she heard that a body had been found, that she called the police that same day. Terrible for her, too. I hope that if someone was responsible for his death, they are caught and brought to justice properly.

They will be, these cretins are short on brains and fortitude.

Is that near where that one boy was murdered a couple years ago?
DaDude
Yep, same city and river. Ryota Uemura was also forced to swim naked in that river too before he was killed. This can't be that random. I wonder if there are links to the same gang or this is a copycat crime.

Yes... but Japan is still much safer than other countries.... yeah, but for how long?

Not for much longer with legal casino business under illegal gang management. No one has ever thought that would happen right?!

Why not?

If he was in a gang, society is at no loss here.
