Now where have I heard this excuse before?

Sure it wasn't a member of SMAP?

Skid marks?

Details are obviously sketchy but it's also possible that this man might have been the victim of some pranksters/criminals who thought it would be funny to steal clothes from drunk people. If I woke up naked on the street, a taxi would be a logical place to seek refuge.

Details sketchy? Reread the article please.

If he was as you try to allude to here a victim, odds are pretty damn high he wouldnt be breaking an acrylic panel with his bare hands. Also if he was a victim, don't you think he would have said so and not go off his rocker?

Unbelievable. Such a people always say "I don't remember because of too much alcohol ". Above comments cannot be accepted anymore. I hate that.

My first thought was actually that it's a bit cruel for the taxi driver to force him out without trying to find out what happened to him. Details are obviously sketchy but it's also possible that this man might have been the victim of some pranksters/criminals who thought it would be funny to steal clothes from drunk people. Um....why did t he driver a) stop and b) open the door?

read the article.

was naked went he opened the door and got into the taxi at a taxi stand

The taxi didn't stop, it was waiting at a taxistand and the guy opened the door.

I have to agree with Disillusioned, those panels are pretty damn thick panels, pretty hard to break it.

Well, at least he wasn't "physically" hiding anything - like a knife or an icepick...

How had he planned on paying?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Why wasn't he charged with public indecency?

Um....why did t he driver a) stop and b) open the door?

Maybe he didn't want know where he was keeping his taxi fare.

It wasn't accepted, he was charged with destruction of property

If he was naked, how did he pay for the ride?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Naked, drunk, and in a public park in the evening. 2 members of SMAP better make room for him in the closet

I shared this with people back home; some of them used to live here... Just a dit of nostalgia, really.

Eh? These things are only acrylic plastic? They are made from unbreakable polycarbonate where I come from.

Nice to see the "I was drunk and don't remember" excuse getting mileage again.

Why aren't there any stories like this involving women?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

''Butt I DON'T remember a thing. That is the naked truth, officer''

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Such a funny story.

Good for the girls and the gays I guess but for the taxi driver, as others have hinted, i bet he was hoping the guy has cleaned his ass before!

You know..... you really have not had an interesting life without at least one naked episode in it. Good for him.... shouldn't have gotten violent though.

Where was his wallet?

If he was a victim being ripped off his clothes by bad fellows and such. He should have run into a koban first. They may have given him some clothes to wear.

you can't make this stuff up...

But taxi drivers in Japan open the passenger door with a button. Why did the taxi driver not notice he was naked before letting him in?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Forget it Jake. It's Odori Beer Gardentown.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Given the fact that he was naked, chances that he have would pay the fare were slim.

I think the white cover on the back seat might need replacing too... yuck
