Police said a thin needle has been found in a pastry item in a convenience store in Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture.

Police said the needle was found by a woman who bought the product at a FamilyMart store on Thursday night, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said there was a small hole pierced in the plastic wrapping through which the 4.5-cm-long needle had been inserted.

The woman found the needle before eating the item. She took it back to the store which contacted police.

Police said they are examining store surveillance camera footage to try and spot who inserted the needle. They said the perpetrator faces a charge of forcible obstruction of business.

Forcible obstruction of business seems like a trivial charge for something that could have been deadly.

forcible obstruction of business

In the corporatocracy, inconveniencing business trumps violence against individuals.

I see they are starting to do these things again. In the past needles were reported to be found in fruit, and breads. Those shopkeepers got to watch out for such creeps.

Not too long ago I bought a bottle of tea , but when I looked carefully, it had been opened and closed tightly, so from now on I carefully check the seal. In another instance I saw a loser sicko dimwit degenerate smegma open a glass door of cold teas, and coughed on most of the shelves inside.

I'm glad to hear she found the needle before she started to eat the pastry item. It's disgusting that someone would tamper with food like this.

In an ideal world, those caught and convicted should be force fed the tampered food items instead of a fine and a suspended sentence.

I remember an instance of this decades ago in the US, and other similar acts.

Similar things happened to Strawberries grown in Queensland, Australia in 2018. Luckily no one was hurt. However, tons of strawberries were dumped and some farms had installed metal detectors for safety measures.
