Newspaper deliveryman arrested for threatening TV presenter

Police in Saitama City said Sunday they have arrested a 36-year-old newspaper deliveryman for making death threats against a TV presenter.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Akira Kamijo, posted six death threats against Takako Kato, 25, in a readers' column on the NTV website, between Sept 25 and Oct 5. The messages, sent from his smartphone, included threats such as "Die" and "I'm going to kill you on the weekend," TV Asahi reported.

Kamijo was quoted by police he didn't like the immoral way that Kato dressed while she was on air. "Her skirts were always too short," he said.

Prior to his arrest, Kamijo worked as a newspaper deliveryman for the Asahi Shimbun.

Yet the fascists are free to shout "death to Koreans" in the street and the police do nothing.

And there is Psychiatric treatment in Jail?

He did death threatening 5 times so he will be sentenced more than 1 threatening case. /this means he has plenty time to get psychiatric treatment in jail.

For public record, :"someone within a government agency or police authority needs to get this guy off the streets and into a mental facility before he is out and about with the public where he may act out on those very threats

The man is crying for help but will anyone listen?

gawd... wish there was an edit button. Japanese children don't deliver papers or mow grass or babysit. In Canada, my newspaper delivery boy went on his paper route in his mother's car.

If this story took place in the states, where the man was offended with his local television journalist hemlines, I would think the guy was off his rocker.

I wonder what Akira Kamijo's story is... 36 year old man and highly agitated over a woman showing some leg. Does he care about her personally or is he angry at women in general?

@DenTok2009FEB. 23, 2015 - 08:27AM JST Children over here don't deliver papers or mow grass or babysit. If took place in the states and was about an American guy ranting and threatening a TV anchor over her short skirts, I would wonder if the guy was a religious nutter. Over here... I suppose a guy who is very old fashioned?

Maybe somewhere in USA. In the place I live in USA, paper deliverly people use cars to deliver. As for skirt, too hot to wear long skirt. Females use skinny long pants. TV anchor women use skirts. No one think about skirt as about every casinos have topless or bottomless dance shows every day and no one look at what narraters wearing.

Kamijo was quoted by police he didn’t like the immoral way that Kato dressed while she was on air. “Her skirts were always too short,” he said

Then don't watch her, you nutball! Problem solved.

That's a cry for help. On the way to the slam they need to check this one under the hood. He's not firing on all cylinders.

Aint nuthing wrong with showing a little leg. She's prob very professional, attractive, confident and @the peak of her career. Why do Japanese men "bash" these kind of women?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

So, killing her would be your 'moral' solution? Wacko. Lock him in the psych ward. Throw away the key.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He's simply a nut case. I'm sorry the TV presenter had to endure such comments.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

But death threats and murder are moral? Strange ethics in play here.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

But if her skirts were any longer you'd never be able to see her legs ..

Her skirts were always too short,” he said.

OMG, an otaku that doesn't like short skirts!

"Prior to his arrest, Kamijo worked as a newspaper deliveryman for the Asahi Shimbun."

Is this last line an attempt to smear them even more?

A psychological exam is in order.
