A 25-year-old man who works as a fee collector for broadcaster NHK has been arrested on suspicion of assault after he forcibly kissed a woman in her 30s at her apartment in Chofu, Tokyo.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. last Nov 14. Fuji TV reported that the suspect, Takahiro Yoshida, who lives in Saitama City, joined NHK in April last year and worked as a license fee collector.
Police said that Yoshida knocked on the woman's door and talked with her about her contract with NHK for a few minutes. The woman told police he forced his way into the apartment, grabbed her around the waist, pushed her back and kissed her.
After Yoshida left, the woman told her mother who reported the incident to police the next day.
Police said Yoshida has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying, "We were getting along so well when we were talking, so I thought she wouldn't mind a kiss."
NHK issued a statement on Friday, apologizing for the incident and expressing deep regret.

From what I have witnessed on a video, I don't think he has a girl friend and such. Besides, he's so young and may have been turned on by the woman's favorable attitude presumably taking it as a suggestive hint toward him.

When we first moved into our mansion, they used to bother us. But after repeatedly ignoring them, and or pretending we didn't understand, they've left us alone for years.

Some really creepy guys come around quite late at night. Lucky we have a monitor and never answer the door. After ringing the bell they always knock on the door. One older guy had a huge lens camera attached to his shoulder recording....spooky guys with a spooky job.

7 or 8 years ago NHK old man came , I told him I never watch NHK therefore I do not need to pay , please do not come again ... since then no one shows up.

As the law is written, if you have the ability to watch NHK, i.e. you have a TV or smafo, you are required to pay, whether you watch NHK or not. Fortunately, that same law provides no penalty for not paying.

Sadly, I tend to agree that this nutter is a sexual predator. It's not bad enough that he forcibly kissed her, but he also forced his way into her house. He would be facing many charges in other countries.
As for the NHK scalpers, I've had quite a few run ins with them over the years, but have never paid because I don't watch Japanese TV at all. I had one pair of goons come round and I said I didn't understand Japanese. They came back two days later with an English speaker. Another time a joker showed up at 8:55pm on a Sunday night. I abused the heck out of him for coming so late and slammed the door. The last time was the most interesting though. I explained to them that I do not watch TV at all and my TV was connect to my computer only. He then said, "If I watch DVDs I still have to pay." They are a persistent bunch of annoying scalpers, but I will never pay. I am aware I am supposed to pay, but as there is no law to make one pay, combined with the fact I never watch the idiot box, I will not pay!

I wonder why NHK still allows this archaic type of collecting money. I always dismiss the collectors that show up at my house. Few months ago, one of them tried to block my door.

again another story of too overly sensitive gone wrong with women in Japan. NO wonder there is a shortage of births, Women in Japan are just too overly sensitive. it was a kiss nothing more..she should be flattered that a guy was interested and bold enough considering her old maid status.
