Noriko Sakai's younger brother arrested for threatening man blamed for her arrest

The younger brother of former actress-singer Noriko Sakai has been arrested for threatening a store employee.

According to police, Ken Yoshihara, 33, was arrested on the evening of March 21 after allegedly threatening a 65-year-old employee working at a ski equipment store owned by the father of Sakai's ex-husband, TV Asahi reported.

Police say Yoshihara accused the man of being responsible for his sister's arrest in 2009 on drug possession charges. Sakai went missing, after her ex-husband, Yuichi Takaso, was arrested for alleged possession of illegal stimulants. The police search lasted six days, before Sakai eventually turned herself in.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that Yoshihara had visited the shop before. Takaso's father had informed the police that he may return, following which an officer was ordered to wait at the store for his return. Yoshihara returned to the store and demanded that the man take responsibility for the arrest of his sister, at which point he was arrested, TV Asahi reported.

According to police, Yoshihara denies threatening the man.

So what's Nori-P up to these days?

So what's Nori-P up to these days?

Who cares...she is sooo done!

You know who's really responsible for Noriko Sakai's arrest? Answer: Noriko Sakai. She did drugs, she fled, she destroyed evidence, and she lied. I don't see how this woman is not in jail. I totally feel for her son.

And now she's trying to revive her career. What's REALLY sad is that she'll probably succeed.

She did her punishment and rehab now she is a recovering drug addict trying to put her life back together, she has probably learnt her lesson now stop bashing her and let her get on with it.

If you continue to put her down bash her and not let her show she has got it together she will always be the 'sooo done" person as you would like her to be. Give people a break when they show they are trying.

@Mirai....people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones around. People make mistakes and she deserves a second chance.

@Mirai, people care. People all go through hard times and this was hers. I wish Noriko well. As for her brother, I can understand his anger. Her ex hubby was a scum bag. The main problem is the Media and how they portray people when they do something wrong

I agree.

@Export I do agree with you. She has a right to another chance and shouldn't be bashed but Mirai is one hundred percent right. It was HER FAULT and hers alone. But she does deserve another chance. Personally, I never believed in her squeaky clean image that was portrayed about her the 80's.

@Seamus

As for her brother, I can understand his anger. Her ex hubby was a scum bag. That has nothing at all to do with it. He didn't force her to do what she did. She has a brain and didn't use it. Her brother is just as much a scumbag as well. Don't forget something, Ken Yoshihara is a Yakuza, which translates to scumbag also. Also, I Nori was on the list of "Do not report what she does, because she is Japan's darling girl". The media protected her until her hubby was arrested and she was wanted by the police. There was evidence of her partying down a long time ago and it didn't come out in the media and it would have NEVER come out unless she and her husband had not stepped in it.

Sorry, I muffed that one up.

So was he the snitch or not?

@Mirai....people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones around.

This makes no sense. I've never done drugs, or ran from the police, or lied about my drug habits, or destroyed incriminating evidence. I don't understand how anyone could have compassion for her.

I get that people make mistakes, and she had a habit. But a person who's career was based around being a squeaky clean person, and then doing drugs...AND on top of that, being a fugitive for like a week doesn't deserve anymore public attention. On top of ALL of that, she writes a book about it and wanted to make money off what she did...hell no!

I am not in a glass house on this one. I have even come close to doing any of the stuff she's done...she deserves the criticism despite what all of the slobbering Nori-piss fans still think of her.

Her husband was a scumbag...yes perhaps, but she is also a scumbag if not bigger scumbag because she did the same things he did, and hid behind her public image. If you are going to argue that she deserves a second chance and that she's a good person (I have no idea how you would know this unless you knew her personally), then an argument can be made that her husband is also the same good person who made a mistake and also deserves a second chance. But I have yet to see an argument to defend her husband on his drug wrap. Everyone huddles in Sakai's court because she's famous and has such a pristine public image. We've gotta remember what you see on TV and what actually goes on privately in these people's lives can be VERY different. I also doubt that Sakai is the princess that the media portrays her to be, and the drug use and the run from the law (amongst the other crimes she's committed and the injustice to her son) proves it.

That has nothing at all to do with it. He didn't force her to do what she did. She has a brain and didn't use it. Her brother is just as much a scumbag as well. Exactomundo!!

She seems to have turned her life around credit to her for that, but if you and others continue to put the boot in then you will not be giving her a chance, she may very well have been a scumbag but is she one now?

Rehabilitation is about moving forward Mirai.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Hey, I am all for rehabilitation...and more power to her...but I don't think she needs to be a public figure anymore. She can become a squeaky clean person in private and be a better role model to her child

You' don't get it really. She never created any image, her producer and handler's and mass media did that for her. She is who she is and whether it's drugs or anything people deserve a second chance.

Everyone has things in their past that they would like to be kept that way, because of who she is her dirty laundry gets hung out for everyone to see. Would you like your's out there too? I think not.

She is only a public figure as long as the press chooses to keep her that way, that is not of her doing right now.

Are you kidding me? You're telling me that she didn't want this???? She didn't want the pristine public image or being in the public light? Yeah right! She's did this for over 20 YEARS! And maybe the media created that image for her, but she ran like a dog with it, doing countless ads, TV cm, dramas making herself into this good girl.

There are a lot of celebrities who choose to be more private and leave the geinokai to be a commoner and succeed at it. But Sakai tries to straddle her squeaky clean public image and her dark private image which is a recipe for disaster. And frankly, you've got to be pretty dense or arrogant not to realize that.

If she is so careless or arrogant to think that the press can't touch her or that she is above the law because she is celebrity, then she deserves everything she gets, and she really doesn't deserve to be in the public light IMHO.

And Yaburu, I don't know why you're trying to make this about me. I am not a celebrity, nor do I have a public image to maintain, so what I do in my private life none of anyone's business and is TOTALLY irrelevant to this story or discussion, nor is it a subject for public scrutiny. But for the sake of argument, IF I were a public figure, I wouldn't do something as stupid as she did if I wanted to maintain my precious career that she obviously cares about.

As a celebrity, she has accepted a responsibility to her fans, sponsors, agency, family, and everyone who works for and around her to maintain the image that is seen by the public. THAT IS HER JOB. The media LOVES to build people up and then tear them apart. Its part of the celebrity's job not get any negative press...that's why they spend so much money on PR agents -so that they can make sure that don't do or say anything stupid that ultimately damages them.

sad scene, and hope Noriko has cleaned up her act. Wonder if the guy in the shop actually had an influence or give Noriko drugs. Although she is weak and should not have taken them in the first place.
