What a creepy story....

The apparent planning that seems to have taken place is terrifying. We can hypothesis that the woman murdered her ex-classmate purely for the intention of stealing her identity. If this is true it is so cold blooded its makes my skin crawl.

I can't help thinking that the killing, document and iD caper was needed to get away from some other criminal activity they did. We should know about it when they get apprehended .

Why is the schoolmate not being named? Why are there no pictures of her?

hmmm and here i thought all packages are screened aNd xrayed properly before being sent. Not a bad time to start that now. who knows what the next nutter will send

Amidalism, I would imagine the police are holding that information back for a reason. It probably has to do with their investigation.

Okada wrote on her Facebook page that she was going to meet up with an old friend whom she had not seen for a decade

this is so sad, this girl was going to see her old classmate and somehow it sounds like she was excited to see her old mate, turned out that she was used and killed. this is so terrible.

Wow this is seriously sick and creepy.

Should be making international news soon.

Sounds like the authorities ought to have enough information to have a good chance of apprehending the suspect or suspects.

This sounds like a mystery novel I've read. A chilling, bizarre story come to life.

Murder, She Wrote.

Because there is no proof and no accusation against her yet. You'll hear the name and see the murderer's face in no time, don't worry.

Inbound and outbound international packages for customs. Not for domestic packages, it could also vary for company to company. You run into privacy reasons for domestic stuff.

The Japanese police will never solve this.

It may take them a few forced confessions, but they'll get to the bottom of it.

The news this morning was having a field day announcing the fact that it was a Nikkei Brazilian, and Chinese that did this, I think they repeated it at least 10-15 times.

Oh ... Chinese mastermind .. all about money

This is stuff for a great crime novel. I should give writing another try! In any case I hope they can still catch the two suspicious women who certainly have something interesting to admit.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this. RIP to this poor woman and I hope whoever did this is caught, regardless of their nationality and bloodline.

A strange tale.

No idea what to make of all this yet, but these two women have a lot of questions to answer. I hope they catch them soon.

Why in the world are the suspects not named??

Year right! Two women escape with using the victims passport and use her credit card and are long on the way out of the country so let's just keep their names and photos private because, hey, they could be innocent after all!

This is weird.

Lots of stab wounds= VERY personal and a very deep grudge, or anger.

However, another article I read said that most of the stab wounds were inflicted after death. Which could still be a grudge, but just not likely. So I wondered… Was it to throw off investigators in a weird attempt to hide some aspect of the crime, like who did it or motive? Or what. So they knew ea other in elementary school-- some leftover grudge about bullying or an old flame? But the dead woman was looking forward to seeing her…

While it seems possible that these two women were working together, a dead body is not light. Is it possible someone else helped them? Are they running from another crime? Are they running from someone who scares them enough to make them do this?

….

Wait and see...

It is just a matter of time before they find these two culprits. In fact, it was a good thing that these two perps were quite stupid and used her credit card, etc., and not thinking that her body would not be found soon because of the smell. What is confusing is why this girl used a missing girl's passport in the first place, why not just use your own.

Just sonfirms that you can send anything in Japan via the mail or Takyubin.

Just plain gruesome... RIP.

The delivery people were asked in advance if it would be OK to ship a clay figurine...

Where was it sent?

Truth is stranger than fiction. RIP Okada, your "old friend" had ulterior motives. Tragic.

A story for a horror flick :(

I'm really troubled by this story (and the way it's presented here).

There were several opportunities for basic checks to uncover what was going on here before it reached its ultimate conclusion.

I hope, now, authorities are swinging into action on this.

My guess would be check the two roommates!! It's already news in Los Angeles

Supposedly the elevator the package passed through smelled for days, but the delivery nii-san didn't notice anything suspicious while taking it all the way to Tokyo...

Sounds like Yakuza.

The way it was done was very professional. The one who did it might be gang related. Very scary to let someone in. In my place where there's a majority of Chinese/foreigners and being alone right now, my hunch of having someone else passing by the veranda area not only once left me checking the doors and window latches twice.

The Japanese police will never solve this.
