Osaka taxi driver found dead at home

Police said Thursday they are investigating the death of a taxi driver whose body was found at his home in Osaka.

According to police, the body of 62-year-old Yasumasa Inuma was found on Wednesday by his boss who was concerned after he hadn't shown up for work for a few days. TV Asahi quoted police as saying that there was 100,000 yen in cash in the apartment. The door was locked and there was no sign of forced entry.

Police said an autopsy showed that Inouma was hit on the back of the head by a blunt object and had been dead since around Aug 16.

Any US servicemen seen in the area?

So many possible explanations here apart from murder. Depending on bruising and other evidence he might have hurt his head earlier, gone home to sleep it off and just never woken up. He could have drunk too much and fallen. He could have been experimenting with retro-phrenology....

Cyclist revenge maybe?

All that cash and no signs of violence, I think Frungy may be right.

Could be, sensei, but love/jealousy murder, or grudge murder, cash doesn't necessarily get taken...

Where was his cash stash?

Too many facts left out.

Too late, Maitake, it's, like, already gone!

Retro-phrenology. Dang.

There was probably more money in the beginning. The 100,000 yen is the clue. That was left to mislead the police, as if there was no foul play.

Well, two things I learned from this article: 1) a study called phrenology (thanks, Frungy) 2) that I don't have a yen symbol on my keyboard.

RIP
