Police in Yachiyo, Chiba Prefecture, said Monday that over 70 stolen bike seats were found abandoned in a nearby park.
According to police, a 61-year-old woman living in a condominium reported on Sunday morning that the seat had been stolen off her bicycle. TV Asahi reported that police subsequently found that the seats had been stolen from more than 70 bikes in the condo parking space.
Shortly after, all of the stolen bicycle seats were discovered in a nearby park, abandoned on the ground and lined up in a row.

It's a thing the teenagers do and it's being going for years.

With the seats missing from the bikes, the police had nothing to go on I guess. But they'll probably be able to get fingerprints or something now.

I would have applauded it if they were taken from illegally parked bicycles outside my station :/

Seriously, don't kids have anything better to do? lol
StormR - Har!
Magnus - I'll bet your station doesn't provide free or low cost ( 100 yen/hour after the first 2 hours ) bicycle parking.

Since the seats were all lined up could the thief had been an OCD sufferer?
