A pachinko parlor in Tokyo’s Nerima Ward was robbed of 4.5 million yen in cash on Sunday night, police said Monday.

According to police, the 62-year-old male part-time employee had closed the prize exchange booth at around 11 p.m. and had just left to go home when two men accosted him from behind, Fuji TV reported.

One of the assailants held him in a full nelson while the other threatened him with a knife and demanded money. The two men forced the employee back inside and ordered him to open the safe. They then fled with 4.5 million yen. The employee was unharmed.

Police said the assailants were in their 20s, about 165 cms tall, both wearing black sweaters, black caps and white face masks.

The pachinko parlor is located near Hikarigaoka Station on the Oedo subway line. Police said they are examining street surveillance camera footage to try and see where the men went.

So was the pachinko parlor robbed or the TUC? The two are separated because of Japan's gambling laws.

I would just amend the headline: People robbed by Pachinko parlor; Pachinko parlor robbed of Y4.5 mil

One day being the victim instead of the perpetrator won't hurt them. Its kind of good news in an obtuse kind of way.

@ Tsuchifumazu The "Yaks" have been driven out of the pachinko business since the 1990s.

Thats strange as here in kobe is common to see the elvis presley hairdoo on suited overly confident g.gs standing around like (as they do) own the place, with there boiler suit gorrilas by there side. Regarding the TUC, the word "front" springs to mind.

Only 4.5 million? Must have been a slow day.

TUC is the amakudari organization for retired coppers.

@Tsuchifumazu: Dude, not knowing is not as bad as spreading wrong information. TUC = "Tokyo union circulation", which buys back the metal.

The "Yaks" have been driven out of the pachinko business since the 1990s. You may notice a TUC sign at exchange booths which is run by the Tokyo Union Collection organization.

They rip people off every day so what's the big deal!

Takes a lot of cojones to rip off a pachinko parlor. I would bet it's a customer, and I would also tell them, better watch their backs because of the Yaks not the cops.

Well, that's a blow to the North Korean economy.

Kim must be really miffed.
